Mediocre DAT...Low organic score..advice?
I took the DAT recently and I was disappointed. Long story short, I lost track of time in organic. OGPA: 3.67 SGPA: 3.55 BCP: 3.50 In college I took 16-19 hours every semester, had research experience, took a rigorous curriculum with lots of upper level courses at once (histology, immunology, neurobiology, cell biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, microbiology, etc.). I taught biology for 3 years as a supplemental instructor, have lots of community service hours, and club involvement on... Mediocre DAT...Low organic score..advice? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What do I do if I want to be a research psychiatrist?
And what is this life like? MS3 here, 90% sure I'm applying into psychiatry, been interested for a while. Like most, I came to this field for the opportunity to get to know people at a vulnerable point in their life, hear their story, and make a positive impact. However, the further I get into my learning, the more turned on I am by learning about the brain, basic science, and pharmacology that goes into it. The more I get into the clinical realm, the more excited I am about different... What do I do if I want to be a research psychiatrist? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Undergrad just switched
So I am a first-year at a CSU. This is my second semester here. I went through my first two semesters as a biology major and I realized that I don't want to continue on with it and do pre-pharm as I had originally thought. It just wasn't what I was looking for in the end and so I decided I wanted to give kinesiology a try. The problem is, is that I totally don't know how to go about any of this in the sense that I had my 4-year plan already figured out for pharmacology and had already picked... Comments on standards for graduate nursing
Here is a chance for those frustrated with the lack of admission criteria, lack of nursing experience required, lack of pharmacology credits, lack of hard science courses and lack of residency before graduating NPs with the ability to diagnose, prescribe and in some states practice independently to voice their opinion and experiences. My biggest issues are the current trend of schools directing undergraduates to remain enrolled without practicing as a nurse prior to becoming a NP for... Rads to Anesthesia?
Hey All, Current 2nd year rads resident (PGY-3). Getting burnt out about rads now that I'm actually taking call - turns out I dislike sitting in a dark room alone at night reading stacks of unending studies, studying arcane minutiae and talking to no one. When I look back at med school, intern year and residency, the things I liked are working as part of a team, physiology & pharmacology, frequent but limited patient interaction, and minor procedures (not surgery or 6hr TIPS). I've spoken... Rads to Anesthesia? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Veterinary, Toxicology Pathology
With a DVM and a PhD in Toxicology, what kind of jobs can one pursue? I am not aware of the career options with a DVM-PhD (in toxicology). Also, is it possible to get in to a pathology residency with a DVM-PhD (in Pharmacology and Toxicology)? If not, what field would you do your PhD in for becoming a Veterinarian Tox Pathologist. Please help! I'm lost. Thank you. (Source: Student Doctor Network)
