Does Emergency Medicine Need A Warning Label Like Cigarettes?
According to the CDC, working between the hours of midnight and 5 am (which Emergency Medicine requires) can lead to multiple health and psychosocial problems. Should EM textbooks, medical schools, residencies and EM employers, be required post the following warnings, due to EMs requirement of night shift work?

I'm a VERY non-traditional applicant with a B.S in biomedical engineering from Duke University (1996) and 20 years away from work outside my home. My husband and 2 siblings are physicians so I know that I've got a long, hard road ahead but at the age of 48 I feel ready to tackle it. What do NEW interns know?
Hello! I've been asking this question for a year now, and always get very unsatisfactory answers: "oh don't worry about it." "Just relax".
Well I've got about 4 months left as an M4 and figured I'd post it here:
What should I be able to do on day 1 of intern year?
Because if I'm honest, I don't know anything. I can do an H&P...I can come up with a dx and ddx...but after that? My plan is "probably....X?"
