How often do you encounter patients from other countries with no travel insurance...
I have encountered almost at least once every couple admitting shifts there are one or two patients who travelled from another country just to take advantage of the healthcare here. But have no insurance or plan to pay, and our hospital eats the costs. Anyone in the ER notice the same? Or just my city?

I volunteer at a free medical clinic for low income and uninsured individuals. My position is in the back office, where we call patients in from the waiting room to interview them and record basic vitals in their chart before they see the doctor. I ask the patient's birthdate to confirm, then take height, weight, blood pressure (automatic), temperature, and record respiratory rate. Hello everyone,
I live in NYC and am a nontraditional application here. I had a tough time during undergrad and graduated in 2017. I have a cGPA 3.1 and a sGPA 2.8. Took the DAT and got a 22AA (22PAT, 23QR, 20RC, 24B, 23GC, 19OC, 21TS) but felt that I could do better with more practice.
