Scientific data offer
Are you conducting research in the field of medical sciences? You do not have enough people to reach the target pool of patients? Do you want to increase the control sample? You've come to the right place! I offer detailed (and fully anonymous) scientific data of thousands of patients (of course, each patient gave written permission to share). The data is very detailed, each patient has a described disease entity (diabetes, depression, Alzheimer's disease, degenerative diseases, cancers and... APPE Ambulatory Care
I am currently on my APPE Ambulatory Care rotation at a clinical pharmacy diabetes call center. I have been asked to do a 20 minute presentation on a hot topic of my choice related to primary care (not related to diabetes). Any suggestions? I am at a complete loss for some reason. Would this count as community service on TMDSAS?
This semester I'm doing an unpaid internship. In this, my responsibility is to work with disadvantaged communities and their leaders to combat obesity, diabetes, etc. and help them improve their overall health. My question is would this count as community service on TMDSAS when I apply? There's leadership involved in this but at the core I feel like it's serving the community (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Nurse Practitioners moving into pharmacy areas
Has anyone else notice the increase in NPs moving into traditional pharmacy areas like anticoag, diabetes clinics etc? My hospital has exponentially increased hiring for NPs in all kinds of specialties that used to be run by mainly clinical pharmacists. Now the NPs are hired instead of additional RPhs in the anticoag, diabetes clinics at my hospital. Also other areas where we used to hire clin pharmacists like internal med and critical care have been mostly filled with a bunch of NPs while... Diabetic insoles, shoes, and Medicare coverage
I routinely prescribe shoes and insoles for my patients who qualify, but a lot of them complain about them not fitting right or not being comfortable. When I examine the insoles, they are typically trilaminer insoles, but some of them have only two layers with claims that they last up to a year so the pt only ended up with a single pair rather than the 3 pairs I’m used to telling them about. Have you heard about this? I tried looking into pubmed for evidence behind the why we’re using... Diabetic insoles, shoes, and Medicare coverage (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Physician Assistant is better than Rph
I already posted that a PA makes more money in Southern Cal. But now I am looking at admissions. I looked at the Western University prospective students for both. The results are below. I can see why being a PA is better. Two years school vs 4. Your job is clinical and not pill pushing. PAs and nurses are taking over blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes clinics. Coumadin clinics have lost 70 percent of their volume due to direct thrombin inhibitors. Based on the data below, PA... Physician Assistant is better than Rph (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Pharmacist buying a Medical office
With the expansion of pharmacists specialties, what would stop a pharmacist from buying a doctor's office and working there under a collaborative practice agreement? For example a pharmacist is board certified in diabetes and either buys out an office that specializes in diabetes treatment, or even buys in as a partner with the office. With the expansion on pharmacists into particularly ambulatory care, what is to stop us from doing this? (This question obviously excludes the states that...
