So here comes the limbo period...
I took the Step 3 this past week, and now that I've had a good rest... all the mistakes I made on the exam naturally have come flooding to me. Absurd things like recognizing the answer as the ulnar nerve and choosing lateral epicondyle. What was I thinking? Stress leading to lack of sleep I imagine. Or stopping Verapamil on a diabetic patient for Metoprolol? WHY DIDN't I START HER ON LISINOPRIL. I just can't believe how on every step, I always have this happen. Walk out of the Step, and... Diabetic foot resource blog
I have trouble finding enough time to give my patients enough information about their diabetic foot problem, and I feel like they only understand half of what I tell them. Because of that, I decided to start a blog with information that is easy to understand. I’d like to share my blog with you all. If you find it useful and appropriate, I’d greatly appreciate it if you share it too with your patients. Thanks! Diabetic Foot Guardian (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Notochord and more
Sorry for the lengthy post but I have some concept questions that I'm not too sure about. Any explanations would be greatly appreciated! 1) Why does diabetic ketoacidosis (high serum glucose levels) increase respiratory rate, decrease blood pressure and increase heart rate? I thought that high glucose levels would increase blood pressure but that's not the case. 2) Notochord (mesoderm derived) forms the vertebral column and skull (or spine), whereas the neural tube develops into the... Diabetes: - It is well known that 80 -90% of type-two-diabetes patients are overweight. Many people struggle with staying positive about getting healthy, which is why their weight loss attempts fail. Choose an activity enjoyable and easy to perform, in terms of location and cost, which is integrated into the routine. Hypoventilation is accumulation of toxic levels of co2 (the gas we breathe out) in the blood vessels, due to inadequate respiration. This way you don't have to spend a bunch of... dftgyj (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What to do about severe proteinuria in diabetics on ACE
Curious what you do in diabetics with relatively good control A1c under 7.5, on ACE-i, without marked decrease in eGFR who consistently have ACR's that are really high. (Other than aggressive BP control) (Source: Student Doctor Network)
