Effect of Mixed Probiotics on Ovalbumin-Induced Atopic Dermatitis in Juvenile Mice
In this study, we aimed to assess the effectiveness of mixed probiotics as a treatment option for atopic dermatitis induced by ovalbumin. BALB/c juvenile mice were classified and divided into the ovalbumin group, mixed probiotic group (ovalbumin + LK), and control group. Except for the control group, all mice were sensitized with ovalbumin to establish a model of atopic dermatitis. The mixed probiotics were given by gavage for 14 days. Mice body weight, skin lesions, skin inflammation, ovalbumin-specific Ig, the number of Treg and CD103+DC, and the expression level of PD-1/PD-L1 were examined. The results showed that mixed...

Dupilumab in patients with atopic dermatitis: assessing treatment response, clinical features and potential biomarkers in real-life
Conclusions. In this cohort, none of the evaluated biomarkers at baseline were associated with a better/earlier clinical response to dupilumab. Dupilumab treatment for 52 weeks resulted in a significant and sustained reduction in blood levels of total IgE and allergen-specific IgE to aeroallergens. The potential long-term clinical benefit of these effects, even after discontinuing dupilumab therapy in patients with AD, should be explored to a greater extent.PMID:38591168 | DOI:10.23822/EurAnnACI.1764-1489.341 (Source: European Annals of Allergy and Clinical Immunology)

GSE240205 A human STAT3 gain of function variant drives Th17 expansion and IL-22 dependent skin inflammation in a model of psoriasiform dermatitis
Contributors : Kelsey Toth ; Erica Schmitt ; Ana Kolicheski ; Megan CooperSeries Type : Expression profiling by high throughput sequencingOrganism : Mus musculusGermline gain-of-function (GOF) variants in STAT3 cause early-onset poly-autoimmunity and immune dysregulation. STAT3 is a pleiotropic transcription factor that affects the induction and regulation of immune responses, with diverse effects on the immune response. Using a mouse model of STAT3 GOF (p.G421R), we observed spontaneous and imiquimod (IMQ)-induced skin inflammation with increased cell-intrinsic local Th17 responses. CD4+ T cells were required and suff...
