ATF5 promotes malignant T cell survival through the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway in cutaneous T cell lymphoma
ConclusionsThese findings revealed the tumor-specific overexpression of the transcription factor ATF5 with its underlying mechanisms in promoting tumor survival in CTCL, providing new insight into the understanding of CTCL’s pathology. (Source: Frontiers in Immunology)

Immunosequencing applications in cutaneous T-cell lymphoma
We describe the significance of T-cell clonality and the methods used to detect it, including a detailed comparison between PCR paired with capillary electrophoresis and HTS-TCR. The utilization of immunosequencing in the blood and skin of CTCL patients is discussed in depth, specifically outlining how HTS-TCR can assist in diagnosing CTCL, predicting outcomes, and tracking disease progression. Finally, we address the potential applications of immunosequencing in clinical management and research as well as the novel challenges it presents. (Source: Frontiers in Immunology)

Lichenoid mycosis fungoides: Report of a case with lichen planus ‐like histopathologic features
We report a 61-year-old patient with 5-year history of generalized violaceous patches and plaques. His biopsy revealed a marked lichenoid band-like infiltrate of inflammatory cells along the basal layer with basal layer vacuolar changes; the diagnosis of lichen planus was first made histopathologically. Several biopsy specimens, clinicopathologic correlation, and immunohistochemistry findings confirmed the diagnosis of lichenoid MF. Awareness of peculiar histopathologic findings of MF is essential to avoid a potential misdiagnosis. When in doubt, multiple biopsies with other diagnostic methods should be employed. (Source: ...

Photochemical Deoxygenative Hydroalkylation of Unactivated Alkenes Promoted by a Nucleophilic Organocatalyst
Angew Chem Int Ed Engl. 2023 Dec 18:e202317190. doi: 10.1002/anie.202317190. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe direct utilization of simple and abundant feedstocks in carbon-carbon bond-forming reactions to embellish sp3-enriched chemical space is highly desirable. Herein, we report a novel photochemical deoxygenative hydroalkylation of unactivated alkenes with readily available carboxylic acid derivatives. The reaction displays broad functional group tolerance, accommodating carboxylic acid-, alcohol-, ester-, ketone-, amide-, silane-, and boronic ester groups, as well as nitrile-containing substrates. The reaction is ope...

Extranodal NK/T-Cell Lymphoma, Nasal Type, Extranasal and Ulcerative Blister Variant, Case Report
We report the case of an 18-year-old patient with an extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma located in an extranasal site. The clinical presentation is characterized for being multifocal and with erythematous-violaceous plaques that progress to hemorrhagic blisters and necrotic ulcers. Although this type of lymphoma has been reported previously by others, the presence of blisters is an atypical finding, which we believe has been described only in one case in the medical literature.PMID:38061727 | DOI:10.5021/ad.21.317 (Source: Annals of Dermatology)

Epstein-Barr Virus Positive Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma with Epidermotropism
Ann Dermatol. 2023 Nov;35(Suppl 2):S317-S322. doi: 10.5021/ad.22.105.ABSTRACTPrimary cutaneous B-cell lymphomas are rare diseases comprising nodular to diffuse lymphoid cell infiltration with an overlying grenz zone and no epidermal involvement upon histological analysis. Diagnostics can become challenging when lymphomas exhibit the characteristics of both B and T-cells. Differential diagnoses may include reactive proliferations, cutaneous composite lymphomas, and transformed mycosis fungoides. Immunohistochemistry and gene arrangement tests may be beneficial to clarify the diagnosis. Herein, we report a rare case of epide...
