Genome-wide Association Study of Susceptibility Loci for Self-Reported Atopic Dermatitis and Allergic Rhinitis in the Korean Population
CONCLUSION: We identified 3 novel SNPs significantly associated with allergic diseases in the Korean population. Further research is required to confirm the association between these novel SNPs and allergic disease in the Korean population and in other ethnicities.PMID:38576245 | PMC:PMC10995615 | DOI:10.5021/ad.22.160 (Source: Annals of Dermatology)

Factors Associated With Achieving Complete Skin Clearance Compared to Almost Complete Skin Clearance in Patients With Moderate to Severe Psoriasis Treated With Biologics: A Retrospective Chart Review
CONCLUSION: This study suggested that smoking history and psoriatic skin lesions on the anterior lower legs are considered as the risk factors for the failure to achieve a PASI100 response in psoriasis patients treated with biologics.PMID:38576247 | PMC:PMC10995612 | DOI:10.5021/ad.23.074 (Source: Annals of Dermatology)

Skin Barrier Function Assessment: Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy Is Less Influenced by Daily Routine Activities Than Transepidermal Water Loss
CONCLUSION: Body cream application and skin washing should be avoided at least 90 minutes prior to measurements of TEWL and EIS. Exercise and coffee intake should also be avoided prior to TEWL measurements. EIS may be a promising tool for skin barrier function assessment as it is less affected by daily routine activities than TEWL.PMID:38576248 | PMC:PMC10995614 | DOI:10.5021/ad.23.052 (Source: Annals of Dermatology)

Risk of Developing Hypertension in Atopic Dermatitis Patients Receiving Long-term and Low-dose Cyclosporine: A Nationwide Population-based Cohort Study
CONCLUSION: The incidence of CS-associated hypertension is very low when using low-dose treatment regimens for AD. However, the current use or a high cumulative dose of CS for treating patients with AD increases the risk of developing hypertension. Precaution is needed when prescribing CS for long-term treatment of AD.PMID:38576249 | PMC:PMC10995617 | DOI:10.5021/ad.23.099 (Source: Annals of Dermatology)
