21 YO cf patient looking to move
I currently live in the greater kansas city area and see the KU CF team regularly. I am looking at the possibility of moving to Phoenix Arizona. I have a roommate lined up if I do but other than that I would be alone with the nearest family over 2 hours away. I have more than just my CF to contend with as well as typical CF problems with infections and viral and bacterial pneumonia within the past year. MY past PFT was only about 55% average. At the moment I am being tested for TB because of some symptoms I have been having including small portions of blood in my mucus from the lungs. Other problems i have include the rare...

New here. No diagnosis. Questions about testing.
Hi. I know that you all, unfortunately, have a lot of experience and knowledge about CF so I hope you don't mind me crashing your party. :o My son just turned 18 yrs old. A while ago, he brought this white bubbly rash on his palms to my attention. You know where I'm going with this. I did some googling and brought him to the dermatologist. He immediately confirmed my amateur diagnosis of Aquagenic Wrinkling of the Palms. My son said that they really start to hurt after his shower and the skin just falls off. The doctor prescribed some Aluminum Chloride solution to apply to his palms but my son never uses it. He has high f...

Children's Hospital Pittsburgh CF Clinic
Hi. Was wondeing if any of your kids go to the cf clinic at children's hosp. pgh. My sons doctor unfortunately is retiring in July, and we need to choose a new doc. withen the practice. I have 2 doctors i am considering, and 1 that is a definate no. Besides being a great doctor, we need one with a great bedside manner who is super patient. My son also has autism, and appointments can be more difficult because of it. Communication is tough between my son and doctors since he doesn't really speak to to them. His current doc is very patient and creative to get my son to cooperate. The doc definetly must be soft spoken ...

Any ideas?
My son has struggled so hard with weight. He is 5'5, and weighs 76 pounds. He is pancreatic insufficent, enzymes are not the issue. He is allergic to gluten, milk, dairy, soy, and rice. Plus he has autism and because of textures and tastes he will only willingly eat 7 foods. He does have a g tube receiving 10-12 hrs feeds a day. Still everytime we gain a few, he ends up loosing them. He tends to hover between 75-77 pounds. gi doc is amazing and has tried just about everything. He and the dietician are speaking with specialists outside the hospital to try to find a new formula with higher calories for him. He even h...
