4 Easy Steps to Writing a Great Personal Statement
by Hanny (Posted Fri Jun 02, 2017 1:54 am) 1) Understand the Purpose of the Personal StatementThe purpose of the personal statement is two-fold:to demonstrate that you have the capability, experience, enthusiasm, skill, and maturity the hospital needs in new residents;to show that you are a good “match” with the hospital in terms of similar values and ideologies. This is important because your personal statement should show that you are a good “match” with your residency program in terms of maturity, ability, experience, skill, enthusiasm, values, stability, and competence (qualities that aren’t always apparent in...

Hello, I just created an account on these forums because this seems like the only place that may be able to give me a decent answer. I am finishing up my BA in Finance and I am going to pivot into a Masters program in Applied Behavior Analysis. My daughter has Autism and this is a field that I am learning a lot about and I am interested and motivated about. With that being said which is the better degree option and does it make a difference? I would like to do some teaching possibly with a... MS or MA or MED in ABA!?!? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Unethical Chiropractors
I saw a Facebook live video of a chiropractor performing a neck adjustment on a child with downs syndrome. She explained that the reason for the child's condition was unknown, but since it's a neurological issue. Once she gets rid of subluxation then the body will self heal. I think what she is doing is unethical, because we all know her adjustments will not cure the child's autism. I often see more nonsense like this from other chiropractors who often post anti-vaccine and claim their way... Unethical Chiropractors (Source: Student Doctor Network)

True costs of *applying* to medical school
I haven't been able to find a thread that directly addresses this so I'm posting but forgive me if this has already been discussed and point me in the right direction. I'm applying (I hope) in a few weeks, having completed all but one pre-req (second semester physics; I have the first semester and two semesters of lab). For a rundown: I turn 40 next week, I'm URM in some unpopular ways (gay, poor, autistic), but overall I think I have an okay chance at school, especially because schools...
