The Relationship Between Self-Reported Childhood Maltreatment and Mental Health in Substance Use Disorders: A 6-Year Retrospective Analysis
CONCLUSIONS: This study underscores the association between self-reported CM and mental health and life satisfaction in patients with substance use disorder. Our results may imply an increased risk of adverse outcomes in patients with high levels of CM, while bearing in mind that both current and retrospective mental health and substance use problems can influence the accuracy of recalling CM.PMID:38648609 | DOI:10.1080/15504263.2024.2338799 (Source: Journal of Dual Diagnosis)

A qualitative assessment of blunt smokers' perceptions and receptivity to non-tobacco blunt wraps
CONCLUSIONS: The N-TBW is unlikely to displace the cigarillo in the near-term future. A more likely scenario is that blunt smokers will continue to use cigarillos with intermittent use of N-TBWs in situational settings. If this occurs, then blunt smokers will continue to be exposed to harmful tobacco products.PMID:38647093 | DOI:10.15288/jsad.23-00331 (Source: Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs)

Downloading appetite? Investigating the role of parasocial relationship with favorite social media food influencer in followers' disordered eating behaviors
CONCLUSION: These findings show that PSR with favorite food influencers appears to be associated with followers' craving for food, which, in turn, may contribute to maladaptive eating habits. This highlights media-related factors, such as PSR with food influencers, as potential drivers of dysfunctional eating habits in the digital age, particularly in countries like Iran where disordered eating is prevalent.LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: Level V-based on cross-sectional data (correlational study; scale development).PMID:38647734 | PMC:PMC11035395 | DOI:10.1007/s40519-024-01658-4 (Source: Eating and weight disorders : EWD)
