Content Review with only KA and no books?
Hi guys, i have about 5 months to study for the MCAT and i learn MUCH better from videos rather than books. Would you say it's sufficient to do content review from Khan Academy's videos only and then questions from various books/ AAMC materials? I've heard a lot of mixed things about KA so any help would be great. Here's a look at the vids: https://www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/mcat (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Important Info for new Accessions - GI Bill
I've been going through TAP (separation) class this week and although I've always known the GI Bill was a good deal I never really knew how good it could be for us docs. GI Bill applies for any active duty unless you recieved a commission from a service academy or ROTC (unfortunately that's the case for me). GI Bill is an automatic program. You have to expressly decline the program in writing. DO NOT DO THIS. You will have $100/month taken out of your first years salary (total $1200).... Dr. Collins Chemistry vs. Actual PCAT Chemistry
Hello, I am going to be taking my PCAT for the first time in September and I have yet to take organic chemistry at my university. I have been studying Dr. Collins and Khan Academy and have also taken 1 Pearson Practice Test. When I take the Dr. Collins practice tests, the chemistry seemed manageable, however when I took the first Pearson PCAT exam, I found it to be much harder (scored in approximately the 40-60 percentile range for chemistry). For those that have taken the PCAT a few days... Dr. Collins Chemistry vs. Actual PCAT Chemistry (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Proposal seeks formation of military trauma teams at civilian medical centers
http://www.militarytimes.com/story/...field-trauma-doctor-combat-medicine/87006694/ The House proposal, which has not been formally introduced, seeks to authorize grants of up to $20 million per year to civilian trauma centers — as much as $1 million each for as many as 20 centers — so they can incorporate full-time military trauma teams. In a recent report, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine suggested the... Foundational Concept Khan Academy Videos and Questions: Worth Reviewing?
I have heard that Khan Academy is a very good resource for the B/BC and the P/S sections of the MCAT. However besides the individual sections there are also sections attributed for each foundational concept. For those who have taken the MCAT, are these worth doing as well? Thanks! A Biology studying strategy for a visual learner
This is my first post - I've been lurking in the shadows of this website since the beginning of June. I've never been good at absorbing information from a textbook or a document of notes without having someone explain the concepts beforehand. Something that I began to do which has helped tremendously is going through KhanAcademy's 'Crash Course: Biology' videos as a basis and then reading through Russelldw's notes one topic at a time. Khan Academy doesn't go in-depth but it sure does help... A Biology studying strategy for a visual learner (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Summer calculus I: Get out now with a W, or tough it out and retake?
So I'm a non trad who just started back at my local state university to attain my med school prereqs. My GPA from undergrad (music major) was a 3.94. This summer I am taking chem 1 and calc 1. Now my last math class was precalculus 10 years ago in my sophomore year of high school. I've spent a lot of time getting ready for calc over the past few months by catching up on algebra, trig, so on with Khan academy. The problem: my calc teacher is awful (I got the last pick of classes this summer... Summer calculus I: Get out now with a W, or tough it out and retake? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
