Berberine induces apoptosis and arrests the cell cycle in multiple cancer cell lines
CONCLUSIONS: Berberine exhibited cytotoxic effects on multiple cancer cell lines by inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. The BCL-2/BAX signaling pathway may be the common pathway underlying the anti-tumor effect of berberine. The findings support the notion that berberine is a dietary compound that can be further developed into a drug candidate for cancer treatment.PMID:37732040 | PMC:PMC10507748 | DOI:10.5114/aoms/132969
