Characterization of Indian gut microbiome for B-vitamins production and its comparison with Chinese cohort
Br J Nutr. 2023 Oct 2:1-28. doi: 10.1017/S0007114523002179. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe human gut microbiota can biosynthesize essential micronutrients such as B-vitamins, and is also known for its metabolic cooperative behaviour. The current study characterizes such B-vitamin biosynthesizers, their biosynthetic pathways, explores their prevalence and abundance, and examines how lifestyle or diet affects them in multiple Indian cohorts, and compares it with the Chinese cohort. To achieve this, publicly available fecal metagenome data of healthy individuals from multiple Indian (two urban and three tribal populations)...

P357 Riboflavin responsive glutaric aciduria type II: diagnostic pearls and challenges
Multiple acyl-coenzyme A dehydrogenase deficiency (MADD) is of special interest because the late-onset myopathic form of the disease is often dramatically riboflavin-responsive (RR). After our group's recent publication including 19 patients with RR-MADD, we continued to encounter late-diagnosed patients and aimed to describe the characteristics of the recent patients we diagnosed with RR-MADD. Patients diagnosed with RR-MADD since January 2019 were included. Clinical, laboratory and molecular genetic characteristics were evaluated retrospectively from hospital records. Element and Water-Soluble Vitamins Profile of Rhus coriaria L. (Sumac) Grown in Different Regions
In this study, the amounts of some elements and water-soluble vitamins in Rhus coriaria L. (Sumac) samples grown in different regions were analyzed by ICP-OES and HPLC, respectively. The maximum amount of Na, K, Mg, and P was determined in the sumac samples of Kadana, Sheladize, Maraş, and Derishke regions, respectively. The richest regions in terms of trace elements such as Zn, Cu, Fe, Se, Mn, Cr, Mo, Ni, and B were Charput, Derishke, Ranya, Charput, Ranya, Derishke, Elazığ, Derishke, and Kadana, respectively. The highest amount of As, Cd, Pb, and Hg in sumac samples were determined in Kadana, Kadana, Trawanish, and Ch...

Application of multi-omic features clustering and pathway enrichment to clarify the impact of vitamin B2 supplementation on broiler caeca microbiome
ConclusionIn this study we demonstrated how to perform multi-omic features integration to describe the biochemical mechanisms enhanced by the supplementation of different concentrations of vitamin B2 in the poultry diet. The relationship between vitamin B2 supplementation and myo-inositol production was highlighted in our study for the first time. (Source: Frontiers in Microbiology)
