Vitamin deficiencies in children: Lessons from clinical and neuroimaging findings
CONCLUSIONS: Acquired vitamin deficiencies may display reversible clinical symptoms mimicking inherited metabolic disorders. Some situations raise suspicion for diagnosis: concordant clinical presentation, suggestive neuroimaging findings, and/or biochemical evidence. NME6 as a potential biomarker and therapeutic target involved in immune infiltration for lung adenocarcinoma
CONCLUSION: The analysis showed that NME6 is a crucial prognostic factor for LUAD patients. NME6 regulates genes related to m6A modification and immune cells infiltration. Patients managed in the ICU following cardiac arrest suffer from multiple complications, including brain ischaemia resulting from reperfusion injury, circulatory failure and the risk of multiorgan failure [1]. To date, management has been largely supportive, with common ICU interventions aimed at normalising circulation, preventing secondary insults and employing neuroprognostication through a delayed multimodal approach [2]. Thiamine deficiency as a cause of anorexia in terminally ill cancer patients: A case of possible gastrointestinal beriberi
The objective of this report was to describe such a case.METHODS: An 82-year-old woman with advanced cervical cancer was admitted for palliative care because of progressive disease. One month after admission, she developed myoclonus on the left side, difficulty speaking, slurred speech, and drooping of the left corner of the mouth, with no consciousness disturbance.
