Synergistic cobalt ‑copper metal-organic framework anchored amino-functionalized cellulose for antibiotic degradation: Interfacial engineering and mechanism insight
Int J Biol Macromol. 2024 Mar 19:131024. doi: 10.1016/j.ijbiomac.2024.131024. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTImproving electron transfer rate of Co species and inhibiting aggregation of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) particles are essential prerequisites for activating advanced oxidation process in wastewater treatment field. Here, we exploit Cu species with variable valence states to accelerate electron transfer of Co species and then to boost the unsatisfactory degradation efficiency for refractory pharmaceuticals via in-situ growth of copper and cobalt species on l-lysine functionalized carboxylated cellulose nanofibers...

Morphological and physiological properties of lupine nodule bacteria (Bradyrhizobium lupini) when grown on a typical urban soil
Braz J Biol. 2024 Mar 18;84:e277549. doi: 10.1590/1519-6984.277549. eCollection 2024.ABSTRACTIn the conducted studies, the moorphological and physiological properties of nodule bacteria of lupine were studied. Lupine plants were grown under the conditions of a microfield experiment on a typical medium loamy urban soil. In the study, a pure culture of Bradyrhizobium lupini was isolated. Then, the morphological properties of nodule bacteria cells and the chemical composition of cell membranes of nodule bacteria were determined. The acid resistance and physiological properties of lupine nodule bacteria were also determined, a...

Green synthesis of NiO NPs for metagenome-derived laccase stabilization: Detoxifying pollutants and wastes
This study introduces an environmentally sustainable remediation technique, utilizing NiO nanoparticles (NPs) synthesized through green chemistry to immobilize a metagenome-derived laccase, PersiLac1, enhancing its application in pollutant detoxification. Salvadora persica leaf extract was used for the synthesis of NiO nanoparticles, utilizing its phytochemical constituents as reducing and capping agents, followed by characterization through different analyses. Characterization of NiO nanoparticles revealed distinctive FTIR absorption peaks indicating the nanoparticulate structure, while FESEM showed structured NiO with ro...
