Plethysmography Variability Index and Stroke Volume Variation Changes in Relation to Central Venous Pressure Changes During Living Related Donor Right Hepatotomy: A Diagnostic Test Accuracy
CONCLUSIONS: Plethysmography variability index and stroke volume variation showed negligible correlation and poor agreement with central venous pressure. Transfusion-free dissection was possible despite normovolemia, with median values of 8 mm Hg central venous pressure, 10% stroke volume variation, and 12% plethysmography variability index. Cerebral Vasoreactivity in HeartMate 3 Patients
While rates of stroke have declined with the HeartMate3 (HM3) continuous flow (CF) left ventricular assist device (LVAD), the impact of non-pulsatile flow and artificial pulse physiology on cerebrovascular function is not known. We hypothesized that improved hemodynamics and artificial pulse physiology of HM3 patients would augment cerebrovascular metabolic reactivity (CVR) compared with HeartMate II (HMII) CF-LVAD and heart failure (HF) patients.

How well do we understand pulsatility in the context of modern ventricular assist devices?
CONCLUSION: Most publications did not provide a definition for pulsatility. In those that did, the most common measure was PI. Measuring PI was not standardised. Few papers addressed the impact of intrinsic ventricular function and arterial compliance on pulsatility. Neurologic Complications After Pediatric Heart Transplant: A Single-Center Experience
CONCLUSIONS: Neurologic complications may lead to serious mortality and morbidity in pediatric heart transplant patients. Seizures, posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome, stroke, peripheral neuropathy, transient ischemic attack, and cerebral infections are the most common neurologic complications, which are seen in the perioperative period in particular. Careful follow-up of pediatric heart transplant patients, with detection and early treatment of neurologic findings, will contribute to lower rates of sequelae.
