Polish Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) Response to Stroke: A Five-Year Retrospective Study.
CONCLUSIONS The use of HEMS in Poland in the case of patients with stroke symptoms ensures fast and professional assistance at the site of the medical emergency as well as safe transport to specialized centers, shortening the time of proper treatment implementation. Co-Contraction of Lower Limb Muscles Contributes to Knee Stability During Stance Phase in Hemiplegic Stroke Patients.
CONCLUSIONS Our results showed that co-contraction of the rectus femoris muscle contributes to the stability of the knee and lower limb function in hemiplegic stroke patients, and suggests that co-contraction should be considered in the rehabilitation of knee stability during gait in hemiplegic stroke patients. Appropriate rehabilitation assessment planning with hemiplegic stroke patients, such as muscle co-contraction or knee stability of, might be created based on our results. Alterations of lymphocyte count and platelet volume precede cerebrovascular lesions in stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rats.

In conclusion, impaired motor performance post-stroke systematic disturbance in the control signal to limb muscles, which manifests as decreased capacity to modulate muscle activity, rather than co-contraction of muscle antagonists or stereotyped movement patterns. Quantification of the Masseter Muscle Hardness of Stroke Patients Using the MyotonPRO Apparatus: Intra- and Inter-Rater Reliability and Its Correlation with Masticatory Performance.

Risk factors for cognitive impairment in patients with first-time ischemic stroke
CONCLUSION: The study showed a high CI incidence in patients with preexisting ischemic stroke. Age ≥60 years old, history of diabetes mellitus, CRP >6.53 mg/L, Hcy >13.84 μmol/L, NIHSS score >4.37 score, VD <45.16 nmol/L are independent risk factors for CI in patients with first-time ischemic stroke.PMID:33841715 | PMC:PMC8014415
