Analysis of influencing factors of rehabilitation treatment effect in patients with first-episode stroke
CONCLUSION: Age, the number of residual symptoms, depression status, attitude towards rehabilitation treatment, starting time of rehabilitation treatment, rehabilitation treatment duration, and family environment score are independent factors for rehabilitation treatment effect in patients with first-episode stroke.PMID:35035747 | PMC:PMC8748090

A Review of the Role of Transthoracic and Transesophageal Echocardiography, Computed Tomography, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Cardioembolic Stroke
Med Sci Monit. 2022 Jun 22;28:e936365. doi: 10.12659/MSM.936365.ABSTRACTStroke is a major source of morbidity and mortality worldwide, accounting for the second largest cause of mortality and the third greatest cause of disability. Stroke is frequently preceded by a transient ischemic attack (TIA). The etiologies of 20-30% of ischemic strokes are unknown, and thus are termed "cryptogenic strokes". About 25% of ischemic strokes are cardioembolic. Strokes occur at a rate of around 2% per year in individuals with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), with a strong correlation between stroke risk and the degree...

Modeling functional network topology following stroke through graph theory: functional reorganization and motor recovery prediction
Braz J Med Biol Res. 2022 Aug 15;55:e12036. doi: 10.1590/1414-431X2022e12036. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTThe study of functional reorganization following stroke has been steadily growing supported by advances in neuroimaging techniques, such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). Concomitantly, graph theory has been increasingly employed in neuroscience to model the brain's functional connectivity (FC) and to investigate it in a variety of contexts. The aims of this study were: 1) to investigate the reorganization of network topology in the ipsilesional (IL) and contralesional (CL) hemispheres of stroke patients wi...
