Predicting the Risk of Stroke in Chinese Internal Carotid Artery Stenosis Patients Underwent Carotid Artery Stenting: Validation and Improvement of Siena Carotid Artery Stenting Risk Score
Background: Siena carotid artery stenting (CAS) risk score is developed based on Chinese internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis patients recruited in Italy, whether it is equally applicable in Chinese remains unknown. We aimed to investigate Siena CAS risk score value for predicting stroke risk in ICA stenosis patients underwent CAS and explore additional factors for improving accuracy of scoring system. Methods: Totally 401 patients with ICA stenosis who underwent CAS were enrolled. The clinical data (including patient characteristics, lesion features, and procedure-related features) were collected and the Siena CAS score was calculated.

Age- and Sex-Associated Impacts of Body Mass Index on Stroke Type Risk: A 27-Year Prospective Cohort Study in a Low-Income Population in China
Conclusions Being overweight increased the risk of both ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes; obesity was only associated with an increased risk of IS. The stroke mothership model survived during COVID-19 era: an observational single-center study in Emilia-Romagna, Italy
ConclusionDuring COVID-19 pandemic, TIA and minor stroke consistently reduced compared to the same timeframe in 2019. Longer stroke-to-call and door-to-scan times, attributable to change in citizen behavior and screening at hospital arrival, did not impact on stroke-to-treatment time. Mothership model might have minimized the effects of the pandemic on the stroke care organization.

Correlates of participation six months after stroke in an Italian population: results from the RIPS (Post-Stroke Intensive Rehabilitation) Study
CONCLUSIONS: In our cohort of patients addressing postacute stroke rehabilitation, prestroke participation levels were on average good, while they were severely reduced six months after stroke for all the considered items except reading and making trips. Post-stroke rehabilitation in Italy: inconsistencies across regional strategies.
Conclusion: The study highlights the issue that, in Italy, delivery of post-stroke rehabilitation services is not uniform nation-wide and varies substantially across regions. The lack of a comprehensive postacute stroke strategy is a major obstacle to service availability.
