Urinary tract infection after acute stroke: Impact of indwelling urinary catheterization and assessment of catheter-use practices in French stroke centers.
CONCLUSION: Urinary catheterization is common after acute stroke and a well-known risk factor of UTI. However, as high heterogeneity in catheter-use practices is found among French SCs, randomized studies comparing the efficacy of urinary catheterization techniques in terms of UTI prevention in acute stroke patients are now warranted.

Transcatheter closure of patent foramen ovale to prevent stroke recurrence in patients with otherwise unexplained ischaemic stroke: Expert consensus of the French Neurovascular Society and the French Society of Cardiology.
CONCLUSIONS: Although a big step forward that will benefit many patients has been taken with recent trials, many questions remain unanswered. Pending results from further studies, decision-making regarding management of patients with PFO-associated ischaemic stroke should be based on a close coordination between neurologists/stroke specialists and cardiologists.

Post-stroke spasticity and shoulder pain prevalence decrease over the last 15 years
Conclusions Disabling spasticity and shoulder pain frequency in recent post-stroke patients decreased over the last 15 years, and functional abilities both at admission and discharge improved. Confirmation of these results in a multicentric study may be important evidence of an improvement in stroke healthcare both in stroke and physical and rehabilitation medicine units in the last 10 years in France and could affect future estimations of the need for rehabilitation care after stroke.

Regional disparities in acute and post-acute care of stroke patients in France, 2015.
CONCLUSION: This study focused on hospital-based management of stroke patients. In spite of the creation of new SUs over the past decade in France, there are persistent regional differences in the number of SU beds/100,000 inhabitants and, consequently, in the rate of stroke patients managed in SUs. However, rates continue to improve with the creation of new SUs and the expansion of existing ones. Regional variations were also noted for post-acute hospitalization rates and PARH beds/places.

Participation in work and leisure activities after stroke: A national study
Conclusions. Overall, our study indicates that people with a history of stroke report more difficulties in participating in work and leisure activities than those without a history of stroke.

Stroke Impact Scale Version 2: Validation of the French Version.
CONCLUSIONS: The French SIS version presents good psychometric properties, except for ceiling effect. This is the first stroke-specific questionnaire evaluating perceived health after stroke to be validated in France, and could be useful for further investigations of HRQoL after stroke.
