Carotid artery direct access for mechanical thrombectomy: the Carotid Artery Puncture Evaluation (CARE) study
Conclusion In this large multicentric study, DCP was scantly performed for vascular access to perform MT (0.39%) in patients with AIS-LVO and had a high rate of complications (18.5%). Our results provide arguments for not closing the cervical access by manual compression after MT.

EE99 Cost-Effectiveness of Percutaneous Closure of a Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) Versus Antiplatelet Therapy After Stroke: A Trial and Model Based Economic Evaluation of the French Close Randomised Controlled Trial
The French RCT CLOSE demonstrated that patients having experienced cryptogenic stroke and having a patent foramen ovale (PFO) with echocardiographic features representing risk of stroke benefited from PFO closure compared to antiplatelet therapy. This analysis determines the cost-effectiveness from the perspective of the French healthcare system of percutaneous PFO closure in combination with antiplatelet therapy versus antiplatelet therapy alone using economic data collected during the CLOSE trial.

Thrombectomy in basilar artery occlusions: impact of number of passes and futile reperfusion
Conclusions We found that BAO patients had a significant relationship between the number of MT passes and both recanalization and favorable functional outcome. We further found that the benefit of recanalization in BAO patients was significant only when recanalization was achieved within three passes, encouraging at least three passes before stopping the procedure.

Prediction of Incident Atrial Fibrillation According to Gender in Patients with Ischemic Stroke From a Nationwide Cohort
The CHA2DS2-VASc score may identify patients at higher risk of atrial fibrillation (AF) following ischemic stroke (IS) among patients without known AF. We compared gender-related differences in items from CHA2DS2-VASc score and their relationship with AF occurrence after IS. This French cohort study was based on the database covering hospital care from 2009 to 2012 for the entire population. Of 336,291 patients with IS, 240,459 (71.5%) had no AF at baseline. Women were older, more frequently had hypertension, heart failure, and had a higher CHA2DS2-VASc score than men (4.63 vs 4.39, p
