Applicability of International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health-based participation measures in stroke survivors in Africa: a systematic review
We examined the content of these tools and provided valuable information that can be used to guide researchers in Africa in their selection of the most appropriate tool for the measurement of participation after stroke.

Effectiveness of AbobotulinumtoxinA in Post-stroke Upper Limb Spasticity in Relation to Timing of Treatment
Conclusions: In this observational, routine-practice study, patients in all groups displayed a benefit from abobotulinumtoxinA treatment, supporting the effectiveness of treatment for patients at various disease stages. Although the data revealed some trends in favor of early vs. late treatment, we did not find strong evidence for a significant benefit of early vs. late start of treatment in terms of reduction in MAS scores.

Cost-effectiveness analysis of patent foramen ovale closure with Amplatzer plus medical therapy compared to medical therapy in patients with a history of stroke in France
CONCLUSION: Amplatzer plus MT represents a cost-effective treatment option and is associated with lower stroke recurrence compared to MT alone for PFO patients with a prior history of stroke.PMID:34772575 | DOI:10.1016/j.jjcc.2021.10.009

Service evaluation of lifestyle integrated functional exercise program for falls prevention in early supported discharge stroke patients
Purpose: Stroke survivors are at greater risk of falling both as inpatients and through their post stroke life (Weerddesteyn et al., 2008). It is suggested that research is needed to specify effective behavioural approaches to increase exercise post stroke (Prior and Suskin, 2018). A falls programs that incorporates behaviour change is the Life style integrated functional exercise (LiFE) program for falls prevention (Clemson et al., 2012). The service evaluation was a two site study to evaluate the LiFE programme to prevent falls a behaviour change approach compared to conventional Physiotherapy in Early Supported.

Results of a four-year multi-channel regional program for monitoring stroke survivors in Franche-Comt é, France
The objective of this study was to describe the implementation and quality of the program.METHODS: A retrospective observational study was conducted from 1st January 2016 to 31st December 2019. Patients were included if they were adults, hospitalized for stroke or transient ischemic attack in one of the six public hospitals in the region and discharged alive. There were five types of monitoring methods: physical consultation, day hospital, nurse-led phone consultation, postal mail or medical record analysis. Characteristics, method of monitoring and discharge delay were described.RESULTS: In total, 7166 patients were ident...

E-176 Endovascular stent retriever thrombectomy of medium and small vessel occlusion of the middle cerebral artery with acute ischemic stroke: a case series
ConclusionsOur case series demonstrated that SRMT in SVO with disabling NIHSS is feasible and safe if performed carefully. All patient achieved TICI 3 perfusion and first pass effect was better observed in trap technique and use of long solitaire STD. Good function outcomes were achieved in all cases irrespective of the types of SRD used and passes required to achieve TICI 3 perfusion. Further studies are required.Disclosures Y. Lodi: None.

Acute stroke care in France: Survey in the 138 stroke units
CONCLUSION: There are still avenues for improvement in acute stroke care in France, especially concerning the number and regional repartition of I-SU beds, and access to reperfusion therapies.PMID:36336492 | DOI:10.1016/j.neurol.2022.07.010

A Learning Health System Infrastructure for Precision Rehabilitation After Stroke
We describe the creation of a Precision Rehabilitation Data Repository that facilitates access to systematically collected data from the electronic health record as part of a learning health system to drive precision rehabilitation. Specifically, we describe the process of (1) standardizing the documentation of functional assessments, (2) obtaining regulatory approval, (3) defining the patient cohort, and (4) extracting data for the Precision Rehabilitation Data Repository. The development of similar infrastructures at other institutions can help generate large, heterogeneous data sets to drive poststroke care toward preci...

TICI-RANKIN mismatch: Poor clinical outcome despite complete endovascular reperfusion in the ETIS Registry
CONCLUSION: Despite complete reperfusion after EVT, half of patients had a poor clinical outcome. These patients, who were mainly older with a high initial NIHSS and an unfavorable post-EVT 24h NIHSS change, could represent a target population for early neurorepair and neurorestorative strategies.PMID:36804012 | DOI:10.1016/j.neurol.2022.10.003
