Downregulation of ELAVL1 attenuates ferroptosis-induced neuronal impairment in rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion via reducing DNMT3B-dependent PINK1 methylation
ConclusionELAVL1 plays a critical role in protecting against ferroptosis-induced cerebral I/R and subsequent brain damage via DNMT3B/PINK1 axis, thus providing a new potential target for ischemic stroke treatment.

Circular RNA from phosphodiesterase 4D can attenuate chondrocyte apoptosis and matrix degradation under OA milieu induced by IL-1 β via circPDE4D/miR-4306/SOX9 cascade
CONCLUSION: CircPDE4D and miR-4306 were important regulators in regulating IL-1β-induced HNC apoptosis and matrix degradation via regulating the key transcription factor SOX9, suggesting a novel circPDE4D/miR-4306/SOX9 ceRNA pathway in OA-related chondrocyte dysfunction.PMID:35549803 | DOI:10.1080/08923973.2022.2077215

Preclinical Evidence and Possible Mechanisms of Rhodiola rosea L. and Its Components for Ischemic Stroke: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusion: The findings suggested that RRC can improve ischemia stroke. The possible mechanisms of RRC are largely through antioxidant, anti-apoptosis activities, anti-inflammatory, repressing lipid peroxidation, antigliosis, and alleviating the pathological blood brain barrier damage.

Overexpression of the long non-coding RNA Oprm1 alleviates apoptosis from cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury through the Oprm1/miR-155/GATA3 axis.
In this study, we investigated the function of the lncRNA Oprm1 in cerebral I/R injury and explored the underlying mechanism. An oxygen-glucose deprivation model in N2a cells was utilized to mimic cerebral I/R injury in vitro. Trypan blue staining, terminal deoxytransferase-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labelling and caspase-3 were measured to evaluate apoptosis. Middle cerebral artery occlusion was performed in mice to evaluate the function of lncRNA Oprm1 in vivo. Real-time PCR and western blotting were used to measure the expression levels of lncRNA Opmr1, caspase-3, miR-155, GATA binding protein 3 (GATA3) and nuclear f...

A Post-hoc Study of D-Amino Acid Oxidase in Blood as an Indicator of Post-stroke Dementia
In conclusion, our data support that plasma DAO levels were increased in PSD patients and correlated with brain WMH, independent of age, gender, hypertension, and renal function. Plasma DAO levels may therefore aid in PSD diagnosis. Introduction Stroke is a risk factor for both vascular dementia and Alzheimer's disease (1, 2). Functional recovery develops over the course of 26 weeks after a stroke (3), but the survivors are often left with disabilities. In addition to the sequelae of acute neuronal damage, the 1-year post-stroke dementia (PSD) rates after first-ever and recurrent stroke are ~10 and 30...

MiR-125b blocks Bax/Cytochrome C/Caspase-3 apoptotic signaling pathway in rat models of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury by targeting p53.
CONCLUSION: MiR-125b exerts protective effects on CIR injury through inhibition of Bax/Cytochrome C/Caspase-3signaling pathway via targeting p53, which is likely to be a promising treatment for CIR.
