Long-term Outcomes of Concomitant Surgical Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation
CONCLUSIONS: Concomitant atrial fibrillation ablation during cardiac surgery is safe, does not increase the rate of perioperative complications, and confers the benefit of long-term survival after cardiac surgery in adults. Dyslipidemia Increases the Risk of Incident Hypertension in a Large Taiwanese Population Follow-Up Study
In this study, we investigated correlations between lipid profiles, including triglycerides, total cholesterol (Chol), high-and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C/LDL-C), and Chol/HDL-C, and baseline and incident hypertension. A total of 26,965 subjects with 4 years of follow-up data were enrolled from the Taiwan Biobank. Hypertension continues to be the leading modifiable risk factor for stroke, kidney disease and cardiovascular disease, and it also plays a key role in a significant proportion of preventable deaths globally. Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) is an underutilised tool that augments the accurate diagnosis of hypertension. Out-of-office blood pressure measurements such as ABPM, permits the diagnosis of white coat hypertension and masked hypertension as well as determining a patient ’s nocturnal dipping status.

Does Weekends Effect Exist in Asia? Analysis of Endovascular Thrombectomy for Acute Ischemic Stroke in A Medical Center
Conclusions This study revealed nonworking-hour effects truly exist in patients who received EST. Although delays in door-to-groin puncture times were noticed during nonworking hours, significant differences in neurological functions and mortality were not observed between working and nonworking hours.
