Factors associated with quality of life early after ischemic stroke: the role of resilience.
DISCUSSION: Resilience was an independent predictor of quality of life beyond anxiety and depression in patients with ischemic stroke. Stroke significantly impacts public health and ranks among the leading causes of death and disabilities, resulting in enormous costs measured in both health care resources and lost productivity. It results primarily from embolus or thrombosis for ischemic stroke and hypertension for hemorrhagic stroke, respectively [1]. In 2016, there were 5.5 million deaths and 116.4 million disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) owed to stroke [2]. As reported, the impact of stroke on the Chinese population is more severe compared to average global levels, and the prevalence of stroke continues to surpass that of ischemic heart disease [3 –4].

Discrepant relationships between admission blood pressure and mortality in different stroke subtypes
The relationship between blood pressure(BP) and clinical outcome in patients with acute stroke is still controversial. The present study aimed to elucidate the impact of admission blood pressure on mortality in patients with acute stroke of different subtypes. Data were from ChinaQUEST (QUality Evaluation of Stroke Care and Treatment), a multicenter, prospective hospital registry study in 37 cities across China. A total of 6427 patients were admitted within 24h of onset and after following up for 12months, 5501 were included in the final analysis.

Evaluating the Effect of Comprehensive Intervention on Cerebro-Vascular Function in Population at High Risk of Stroke
Background: Today there exists few intervention researches on cerebro-vascular function in populations at high risk of stroke in China. Methods: Patients more than 40 years old, with at least 1 of stroke risk factors were recruited from outpatient department in 3 hospitals. A quasi-experimental design was performed by assigning participants into 3 groups: comprehensive intervention group, health education group, and control group. Participants in the control group received no intervention but were informed of risk factors of stroke.
