PND22 Cost-Utility of Mechanical Thrombectomy after Thrombolysis in Ischemic-Stroke Due to Large Vessel Oclussion in Obras Sociales and Empresas De Medicina Prepaga in Argentina
Stroke is responsible for mortality and long-term disability in Argentina. Available treatments for stroke due to Large Vessel Occlusion (LVO) are Thrombolysis (IV-tPA) and Mechanical Thrombectomy (MT), although the last with low penetration rates despite its international economic value profile. A Cost-Utility Analysis (CUA) was conducted to estimate the economic value of incorporating MT into the existing spectrum of treatments.

Final Celtics Mock Draft Roundup: Who The Team Will Pick If Ainge Can ’ t Trade Trio Of First Rounders
BOSTON (CBS) — We’re in the final countdown to the 2020 NBA Draft. It’s go-time for the Boston Celtics. Danny Ainge has reportedly been working the phones in hopes of trading away some of — if not all of — Boston’s three first-round picks. The Celtics have no room for three rookies on a crowded roster, and Ainge would reportedly love to try to turn those three picks into a Top 10 selection. Whether he makes a pick in the Top 10 or then flips that selection is anyone’s guess. But since we’ve heard so darn much about the Celtics wanting to trade, let’s just face the grim ...

Cerebral venous thrombosis in Argentina: clinical presentation, predisposing factors, outcomes and   literature review
Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is an uncommon medical condition that primarily affects young individuals.  Previous studies suggest an annual incidence rate of 1-12/1,000,000 cases, representing 0.5% to 3% of all stroke.1-4 CVT is more common in childbearing women, usually associated with a transient prothrombotic state (e.g. pregnancy, puerperium, exposure to oral contraceptives).5

Mechanical thrombectomy for reperfusion of acute ischemic stroke in a Stroke Unit in Argentina
Conclusions: With adequate logistics and strict selection criteria, MT can be implemented in our population with results like those reported in large clinical trials.

Hands-Free Human-Computer Interface Based on Facial Myoelectric Pattern Recognition
Conclusion A facial movement-machine interface was developed in this study in order to help users with limited hand function manipulate electronic devices. Facial movements were detected using four EMG sensors, and five movement patterns were classified using myoelectric pattern recognition algorithms. The results from 10 able-bodied subjects show that facial movements can be detected and classified at high accuracies. The pattern-based continuous mapping between facial movements and cursor actions achieved high performance in both a typing task and a drawing task. Ethics Statement This study was approved by the Committ...

C-Reactive Protein and Risk of Parkinson's Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusions: This meta-analysis revealed that PD is associated with an increase of CRP levels. CRP might be a risk factor for PD or PD leads to an inflammatory response. Introduction Parkinson's disease (PD) is one of the most complex neuro-degenerative disorders next to Alzheimer's disease. It is characterized by bradykinesia, tremor, rigidity, abnormal postural, and gait (1). PD has been recognized by the selective loss of dopaminergic neurons within the substantia nigra pars compacta, whereas the exact etiology remains elusive (2). Previously, multiple inferences have reviewed the environmental a...

A Population-Based Survey of Stroke Knowledge in Argentina: The SIFHON Study
Conclusions: This study represents the largest stroke awareness survey in a Spanish-speaking population. There was good recognition of some basic facts of stroke. However, the population had poor knowledge of prevalence and severity of the disease, transient ischemic attacks, and treatment availability.Neuroepidemiology
