Clinical impact of the infrapatellar location in symptomatic peripheral arterial disease patients
CONCLUSION: Infrapatellar disease was anindependent factor for increased hospitalization of CLTI, major and minor amputations events, compared to suprapatellardisease in symptomatic revascularized PAD patients.PMID:36480817 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.22000161

Predictive factors for the development of epilepsy after ischemic stroke
In Argentina, each year approximately 50,000 people suffer an ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke1 and 340,000 people over 40 years old live with a history of stroke.2 The advent of therapies such as thrombolysis and thrombectomy achieved a substantial reduction in morbidity and mortality.3 In addition, stroke survivors have an increased risk of spontaneous seizures and the number of people who have survived a stroke but have motor, visual or cognitive sequelae is high.4 Post-stroke epilepsy (PSE) is a condition where seizures occur more than 7 days after stroke, with a high risk of recurrent unprovoked seizures over the subsequent 10-years.

P72 NeVa™ thrombectomy device (NvTD): initial experience in a regional argentinian stroke care center
ConclusionsThe NvTD showed high First Pass and overall recanalization rates. Even though a safety profile was observed, further investigation regarding this item are needed.ReferencesRibo M, Requena M, Macho J, et al. Mechanical Thrombectomy for Acute Ischemic Stroke Due to Large Vessel Occlusion in Argentina: An Economic Analysis
This study was designed to estimate the economic value and the budget impact of incorporating MT after thrombolysis, simulating scenarios from Argentinian compulsory social health insurance (Obras Sociales) and private insurances (Empresas de Medicina Prepaga).

Control of Vascular Risk Factors and Response to Stroke Symptoms in Argentina During the COVID-19 Quarantine. The SIFHON-COVID Population Survey
ConclusionsThe implementation of a quarantine may have some serious adverse effects on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of stroke. These undesirable aspects should be taken into consideration in the planning, communication and implementation of health policies.

Thrombotic events following Covid-19 vaccines compared to Influenza vaccines
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: This study shows a significant increase in thrombotic events in subjects vaccinated with Covid-19 vaccines in comparison to a control group. The clinical implication of these findings should be interpreted with caution, in light of the high effectiveness of vaccination and the inherent risk of thrombosis from Covid-19 infection itself.PMID:35288031 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejim.2022.03.002

Do baseline characteristics and treatments account for geographical disparities in the outcomes of patients with newly diagnosed atrial fibrillation? The prospective GARFIELD-AF registry
Conclusion The variability in outcomes across countries for patients with newly diagnosed AF is not accounted for by baseline characteristics and antithrombotic treatments. Residual mortality rates were correlated with Healthcare Access and Quality indices. The findings suggest the management of patients with AF needs to not only address guideline indicated and sustained anticoagulation, but also the treatment of comorbidities and lifestyle factors. Trial registration number NCT01090362.

PND36 Budget Impact Analysis of the Incorporation of Mechanical Thrombectomy with Stent Retrievers after Thrombolysis in Ischemic-Stroke with Large Vessel Occlusion in Programa De Atencion medica Integral Pami in Argentina
Stroke is responsible for mortality and long-term disability in Argentina. Available treatments for stroke due to Large Vessel Occlusion (LVO) are Thrombolysis (IV-tPA) and Mechanical Thrombectomy (MT). However, despite its clinical benefits, MT coverage in Argentina and PAMI is low. A Budget-Impact Analysis (BIA) was conducted to estimate the financial impact of incorporating MT after IV-TPA in PAMI for the elderly.

PND28 Budget Impact Analysis of the Incorporation of Mechanical Thrombectomy with Stent Retrievers after Thrombolysis in Ischemic-Stroke with Large Vessel Occlusion in Obras Sociales and Empresas De Medicina Prepaga in Argentina
Stroke is associated with high clinical and economic burden of disease. Available treatments for stroke due to Large Vessel Occlusion (LVO) in Argentina are Thrombolysis (IV-tPA) and Mechanical Thrombectomy (MT). Despite its clinical benefits, MT coverage in Argentina is low. A Budget-Impact Analysis (BIA) was conducted to estimate the financial impact of incorporating MT after IV-TPA in Obras Sociales and Empresas de Medicina Prepaga (EMP) in Argentina.

PND24 Cost-Utility of Mechanical Thrombectomy after Thrombolysis in Ischemic-Stroke Due to Large Vessel Oclussion in Programa De Atencion medica Integral Pami in Argentina
Stroke is responsible for mortality and long-term disability in Argentina and it is a highly prevalent condition among the elderly. Available treatments for stroke due to Large Vessel Occlusion (LVO) are Thrombolysis (IV-tPA) and Mechanical Thrombectomy (MT), although the last with low penetration rates despite its international economic value profile. A Cost-Utility Analysis (CUA) was conducted to estimate the economic value of incorporating MT into the existing spectrum of treatments.
