Stroke-like presentation of autoimmune chorea with positive anti-Yo and anti-MOG antibodies: a case report
AbstractWith the in-depth study of autoimmune encephalitis, more and more antibody combinations and clinical manifestations appear in our sights, enriching the spectrum of autoimmune encephalitis. Here, we report a case of a 58-year-old male patient with sudden involuntary movement of the left limb. The brain MRI was normal. CSF analysis showed slightly elevated protein (548.38  mg/L) and normal cell count(1.00 10^6/L). No tumors were detected by the whole-body PET-CT. Case report: Acute vestibular syndrome and cerebellitis in anti-Yo paraneoplastic syndrome
We report three patients evaluated over the past decade with an acute AVS along with subtle downbeat nystagmus (DBN), followed by dysarthria and progressive truncal and limb ataxia, as well as increasing DBN intensity.MethodsAll patients underwent neurologic examination, video-oculography, MRI, serum cancer markers, spinal fluid examination, paraneoplastic panel testing, and oncologic workup. The past decade has been marked by the advent of continuous EEG (cEEG) monitoring, which is now recommended as the standard of care in numerous medical conditions seen in the neurologic intensive care unit (ICU).1,2 In clinical practice, its main indications are seizure detection, treatment monitoring, and prognostication in various conditions such as seizures/status epilepticus, ischemic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, brain tumor, encephalitis/sepsis-associated encephalopathy, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, targeted temperature management, and cardiac arrest.2,3

Incidence, prevalence and disability associated with neurological disorders in Italy between 1990 and 2019: an analysis based on the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019
ConclusionsThe increase in YLDs associated with neurological conditions is mostly due to population ageing and growth: nevertheless, lived disability and, as a consequence, impact on health systems has increased. Actions are needed to improve outcome and mitigate disability associated with neurological conditions, spanning among diagnosis, treatment, care pathways and workplace interventions.

Conclusions Despite the above limitations, we indicate that the protective mechanism of CTs against OGD/R damage might exert via inhibiting neuron apoptosis and attenuating BBB disruption. Furthermore, we also clarified that CTs inhibited neuronal apoptosis possibly by blocking the activation of MAPK signaling pathways, and CTs alleviating BBB disruption may associated with the regulation of TJPs and MMP-9 in our experiment. Common etiologies of acute symptomatic seizures evolving from lateralized periodic discharges in patients monitored with continuous EEG (P2.233)
Conclusions:The most common high risk etiologies of acute symptomatic seizures evolving from lateralized periodic discharges in our cohort of patients were ischemic stroke, tumor, encephalitis, and subdural hematoma. Recognition of these etiologic factors may influence the duration of continuous EEG monitoring employed or the decision to institute seizure prophylaxis. N-type calcium channel antibody-mediated paraneoplastic limbic encephalitis: A diagnostic challenge
Conclusion: This case highlights limbic encephalitis as an atypical presentation of neuroendocrine cancer. It also illustrates how treatment of the underlying cancer can reverse limbic encephalitis and Lambert–Eaton myasthenic syndrome in a neuroendocrine carcinoma patient even before the paraneoplastic panel becomes negative.
