In conclusion, our data support that plasma DAO levels were increased in PSD patients and correlated with brain WMH, independent of age, gender, hypertension, and renal function. Plasma DAO levels may therefore aid in PSD diagnosis.

Shengui Sansheng San Ameliorates Cerebral Energy Deficiency via Citrate Cycle After Ischemic Stroke
Conclusion
In summary, SSS extraction significantly ameliorates cerebral energy metabolism via boosting citrate cycle, which mainly embodies the enhancements of blood glucose concentration, glucose and lactate transportation and glucose utilization, as well as the regulations of relative enzymes activities in citrate cycle. These ameliorations ultimately resulted in numerous ATP yield after stroke, which improved neurological function and infarcted volume. Collectively, it suggests that SSS extraction has exerted advantageous effect in the treatment of cerebral ischemia.

Malnutrition in Acute Stroke Patients Stratified by Stroke Severity- A Hospital Based Study.
CONCLUSION: Nutritional status was poor in stroke patients across all stroke severities within weeks. Further longitudinal outcome studies to identify the poor outcome and the evolution of nutritional status are warranted.

Stroke risk in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy patients with atrial fibrillation: a nationwide database study.
This study aimed to determine the incidence of stroke and its risk factors in HCM patients with AF during a long-term follow-up. Using a national database, we retrospectively investigated 18,724 HCM patients from a systematic sample of 1,000,000 Taiwanese people between 1997 and 2013. The incidences of AF and stroke were estimated. Data were analyzed using Cox regression models. Cardiovascular outcomes of vildagliptin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus after acute coronary syndrome or acute ischemic stroke

Predicting the Risk of Ischemic Stroke among Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis Using a Simplified RA-CHADSV Score Based on the CHA2DS2-VASc Score.
CONCLUSIONS: A simplified RA-CHADSV score, with comparable efficiency as the CHA2DS2-VASc score, but easier to use clinically was developed for predicting the risk of ischemic stroke among non-AF RA patients.

Disparities in Ischemic Stroke Subtypes and Risk Factors between Taiwanese Aborigines and Han Chinese in Taitung, Taiwan
Conclusion Risk factors differ between the Han Chinese and the Taiwanese Aborigines, and areca nut chewing correlates with cardioembolic stroke. Future measures for stroke prevention should take these factors into consideration.

Functional outcome prediction of ischemic stroke patients with atrial fibrillation accepting post-acute care training
ConclusionIn the current study, nearly half of the enrolled patients showed favorable functional recovery. The outcome assessments seem to correlate well with NIHSS and Barthel Index scores, rather than mRS. The anxiety/depression and usual activities domains of the EQ-5D results are associated with and have a great impact after the patients undertake the PAC rehabilitative strategy. Moreover, the variables obtained through carotid duplex and plaque index might also play a significant role in determining the patient's functional outcome.

Correlation between Immune-Inflammatory Markers and Clinical Features in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke
CONCLUSIONS: Immune-inflammatory markers dynamically increased from symptom onset of acute ischemic stroke in patients eligible for thrombolytic therapy. Higher levels of immune-inflammatory markers suggest more in-hospital complications and unfavorable short-term outcomes.PMID:34018169
