Naringenin inhibits the growth of Dictyostelium and MDCK‐derived cysts in a polycystin‐2 (TRPP2)‐dependent manner
Conclusions and implicationsThe action of naringenin on cell growth in the phylogenetically diverse systems of Dictyostelium and mammalian kidney cells, suggests a conserved effect mediated by polycystin‐2 (TRPP2). Further studies will investigate naringenin as a potential new therapeutic agent in ADPKD.

Methionine Downregulates TLR‐4/MyD88/NF‐κB Signaling in Osteoclasts Precursors to Reduce Bone Loss during Osteoporosis
Conclusions and ImplicationsMethionine prevents OVX induced bone loss by disrupting functional osteoclast development via TLR‐4/MyD88/NF‐κB signaling pathway. Methionine supplementation could be beneficial for treatment against post‐menopausal osteoporosis.

Plasminogen‐stimulated airway smooth muscle cell proliferation is mediated by urokinase and annexin A2, involving plasmin‐activated cell signalling
Conclusion and implicationsPlasminogen stimulates ASM cell proliferation in a manner mediated by uPA and involving multiple signalling pathways downstream of plasmin. Targeting mediators of plasminogen‐evoked ASM responses, such as uPA or annexin A2, may be useful in the treatment of asthma.

Inhibition of fatty acid amide hydrolase activates Nrf2 signalling and induces heme oxygenase 1 transcription in breast cancer cells
Conclusions and ImplicationsThese data uncovered a novel mechanism by which inhibition of FAAH or exposure to AEA induced HO‐1 transcripts and implicating AEA and FAAH as direct modifiers in signalling mediated activation of Nrf2‐HO‐1 pathway, independent of cannabinoid receptors.

Bleomycin induces endothelial mesenchymal transition through activation of mTOR pathway: a possible mechanism contributing to the sclerotherapy of venous malformations
Conclusions and ImplicationsOur study unmasks the involvement of Slug‐dependent EndoMT in bleomycin‐induced therapeutic effects on endothelial cells and, more importantly, indicates its potential role in the sclerotherapy of VMs.

Penta‐O‐galloyl‐β‐D‐glucose ameliorates inflammation by inhibiting MyD88/NF‐κB and MyD88/MAPK signaling pathways
Conclusions And ImplicationsPGG reduces the activation of NF‐κB and MAPK signaling pathways by directly influencing the MyD88 adaptor protein. PGG may ameliorate inflammatory diseases such as colitis.

The deactivation of signal transducer and activator of transcription‐3 activation signaling by emodin inhibits growth and induces apoptosis in orthotopic hepatocellular carcinoma model
Conclusions and ImplicationsOverall, our results suggest that emodin is mediating its effects predominantly through inhibition of STAT3 signaling cascade and thus has an enormous potential for the treatment cancers harboring constitutively activated STAT3.

Quercetin and allopurinol reduce liver thioredoxin‐interacting protein to alleviate inflammation and lipid accumulation in diabetic rats
Conclusions and ImplicationsInhibition of hepatic TXNIP by quercetin and allopurinol contributes to the reduction in liver inflammation and lipid accumulation under hyperglycaemic conditions. The targeting of hepatic TXNIP by quercetin and allopurinol may have therapeutic implications for prevention of type 1 diabetes‐associated NAFLD.

Quercetin and Allopurinol Reduce Liver Thioredoxin‐Interacting Protein to Improve Inflammation and Lipid Accumulation in Diabetic Rats
Conclusions and ImplicationsThese results demonstrate that hepatic TXNIP inhibition by quercetin and allopurinol contributes to the improvement of liver inflammation and lipid accumulation under hyperglycemia condition. Therefore, quercetin and allopurinol targeting hepatic TXNIP may have therapeutic application to prevent type 1 diabetes‐associated NAFLD.

IL‐4 and IL‐13 inhibit IL‐1β and TNF‐α induced kinin B1 and B2 receptors through a STAT6‐dependent mechanism
Conclusions and ImplicationsThese data show, for the first time, that IL‐4 and IL‐13 decrease kinin receptors in a STAT6‐dependent mechanism, which can be one important mechanism by which these cytokines exert their anti‐inflammatory effects and impair bone resorption.
