Endothelin‐1 suppresses insulin‐stimulated Akt phosphorylation and glucose uptake via GPCR kinase 2 in skeletal muscle cells
Conclusions and ImplicationsActivation of ETA receptors with ET‐1 suppressed insulin‐induced Akt phosphorylation at Thr308 and Ser473 and [3H]2‐DG uptake in a GRK2‐dependent manner in skeletal muscle cells. These findings suggest that ETA receptors and GRK2 are potential targets for overcoming insulin resistance.

Single administration of recombinant IL‐6 restores the gene expression of lipogenic enzymes in liver of fasting IL‐6 deficient mice
Conclusions and ImplicationsIL‐6 sustains levels of hepatic lipogenic enzymes during fasting suggesting a direct involvement of STAT3. Our findings warn about clinical use of the STAT3‐associated signalling cytokines particularly against steatosis. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

All‐trans retinoic acid protects against doxorubicin‐induced cardiotoxicity by activating the Erk2 signalling pathway
CONCLUSION AND IMPLICATIONATRA protected cardiomyocytes against doxorubicin‐induced toxicity by activating the Erk2 pathway without compromising the anticancer efficacy of doxorubicin. Therefore, ATRA may be a promising candidate as a cardioprotective agent against doxorubicin cardiotoxicity.

Role for engagement of β‐arrestin2 by the transactivated EGFR in agonist‐specific regulation of δ receptor activation of ERK1/2
Conclusions and ImplicationsThe δ receptor‐mediated activation of ERK1/2 is via ligand‐specific transactivation of EGFR. This study adds new insights into the mechanism by which δ receptors activate ERK1/2.

Induction of the inflammatory regulator A20 by gibberellic acid in airway epithelial cells
Conclusions and implicationsHere we show that A20 induction by GA3 attenuates inflammation in airway epithelial cells, at least in part through its effect on NF‐κB and IκBα. GA3 or gibberellin‐derived derivatives could potentially be developed into anti‐inflammatory drugs for the treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases associated with A20 dysfunction.
