Conclusion: These assays are suitable for routine diagnostic. The UltraFast NextGenPCR is the fastest with average time (30mins), followed by Agilent (2 hrs) and MassArray (6hrs). Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to examine, measure and compare results from different assays for SARS detection, evaluate and diagnose accurately, as well as being able to plan, organize and recommend a diagnostic procedure for diagnostic laboratory. Key words: SARS-CoV-2, RNA extraction, RT-PCR, limit of detection, quantification cycle, COVID-19, in vitro diagnostic tests, Agilent, Massarray, Ultrafast. [20] From t...

Myostatin increases human trophoblast cell invasion by upregulating N-cadherin via SMAD2/3-SMAD4 Signaling
In this study, we tested the hypothesis that myostatin increases trophoblast cell invasion by upregulating N-cadherin via SMAD2/3-SMAD4 signaling. Primary and immortalized (HTR8/SVneo) trophoblast cells were used as study models. Matrigel-coated transwell invasion assays were used to study the effects of recombinant human myostatin on trophoblast cell invasion. RT-qPCR and Western blot were used to measure myostatin effects on N-cadherin mRNA and protein levels, respectively. Small inhibitor molecules as well as siRNA-mediated knockdown were used to block myostatin receptor and downstream signaling, respectively. Data were...

Knockdown of SERPINB2 enhances the osteogenic differentiation of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells via activation of the Wnt/ β-catenin signalling pathway
CONCLUSIONS: Taken together, these findings indicate that SERPINB2 silencing promoted osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs via the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, and silenced SERPINB2 in vivo effectively promotes fracture healing, suggesting that SERPINB2 may be a novel target for bone fracture healing.PMID:34620242 | DOI:10.1186/s13287-021-02581-6

Expression of the circular RNAs in astaxanthin promotes cholesterol efflux from THP-1 cells based on RNA-seq
ConclusionsThe 3 differentially expressed circRNAs may play an important role in the process of AST promoting cholesterol efflux and may be used as biomarkers to prevent AS.

MicroRNA expression changes following BCL11A inhibition in CD34+-derived red blood cells
CONCLUSIONS: The expression levels of miR-15a, miR-16, miR-23a, miR-27a, and miR-486 changed before and after γ-to-β gene switching. Therefore, this may be an effective intervention for controlling the switching and synthesis of fetal hemoglobin.PMID:33707350 | DOI:10.5045/br.2021.2020087

Characterization of the role for cadherin 6 in the regulation of human endometrial receptivity.
CONCLUSION: Together, our data revealed that CDH6 was dysregulated in the endometrium from women with infertility and altered Ishikawa cell adhesive capacity. Our study supports a role for CDH6 in regulating endometrial adhesion and implantation. PMID: 32600462 [PubMed - in process]

Regulatory Effect of 1,25(OH)2D3 on TGF- β1 and miR-130b Expression in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Nephropathy in Rats.
Conclusion: TGF-β1 can decrease the expression of miR-130b in kidney tissues of DN rats. Moreover, miR-130b may be involved in the protective effect of 1,25(OH)2D3 on renal fibrosis via TGF-β1. PMID: 31781203 [PubMed]
