Upregulation of A20 and TAX1BP1 contributes to the anti-neuroinflammatory and antidepressant effects of bavachalcone
In conclusion, these results are the first to demonstrate that bavachalcone exerts anti-neuroinflammatory and antidepressant effects via inhibition of the NF-κB pathway mediated by upregulating A20 and TAX1BP1, and may be a potential candidate for the treatment of neuroinflammation-related diseases, including depression.PMID:37393841 | DOI:10.1016/j.intimp.2023.110552

Irisin attenuates ethanol-induced behavioral deficits in mice through activation of Nrf2 and inhibition of NF- κB pathways
This study aims to investigate the effect of irisin on ethanol-induced behavioral deficits and explore the underlying mechanisms. A mouse model of ethanol addiction/withdrawal was constructed through chronic ethanol administration. Depressive-like behaviors were evaluated by the tail suspension test and forced swimming test, and anxiety-like behaviors were evaluated by the marble-burying test and elevated plus maze test. The expression of Nrf2 was measured by western blotting. Levels of inflammatory mediators (NF- κB, TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6) and oxidative stress factors (ROS, MDA, GSH and SOD) were detected by ELISA. The...

MiR-214 Expression Is Elevated in Chronic Rhinosinusitis Mucosa and Regulates Lipopolysaccharide-Mediated Responses in Undifferentiated Human Nasal Epithelial Cell Culture
CONCLUSION: Taken together, miR-214 regulates LPS-mediated inflammation and MUC5AC expression via targeting SIRT1, and STAT3/GDF15 may involve in the regulation of miR-214 inhibitor on inflammation and MUC5AC expression.PMID:36797977 | DOI:10.1177/19458924231152683

Angiotensin II type 2 receptor prevents extracellular matrix accumulation in human peritoneal mesothelial cell by ameliorating lipid disorder via LOX-1 suppression
Ren Fail. 2022 Dec;44(1):1687-1697. doi: 10.1080/0886022X.2022.2133729.ABSTRACTEvidence suggests that intracellular angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1) contributes to peritoneal fibrosis (PF) under high glucose (HG)-based dialysates. It is generally believed that AT2 antagonisticly affects AT1 function. The aim of this study was to explore whether AT2 activation is beneficial for attenuating human peritoneal mesothelial cell (HPMC) injury due to HG. We treated a HPMC line with HG to induce extracellular matrix (ECM) formation. AT2 was increased and blocked using CGP42112A and AT2 siRNA. Lipid deposition was detected, sign...

Dexmedetomidine attenuates myocardial ischemia/reperfusion-induced ferroptosis via AMPK/GSK-3 β/Nrf2 axis
In conclusion, Dex protects hearts against MIRI-induced ferroptosis via activation of Nrf2 through AMPK/GSK-3β signaling pathway.PMID:35988428 | DOI:10.1016/j.biopha.2022.113572
