Association of masticatory efficiency with deep carious lesions in children
ConclusionDeep carious lesions in children are associated with a decrease in masticatory efficiency. Moreover, children with carious lesions that provoke a higher level of pain take more time for masticatory cycles.

Rare mimicker of sacroiliitis
A 62-year-old woman was referred for suspected sacroiliitis discovered incidentally on a CT scan performed for pre-transplant assessment, in a context of chronic renal failure due to nephroangiosclerosis with haemodialysis for 18 months. Her renal disease was complicated by anaemia and secondary hyperparathyroidism. She was completely asymptomatic, including no lumbar or buttock pain. The CT scan (figure 1) showed bilateral and symmetrical subchondral bone resorption of blurred appearance responsible for a pseudo-widening which mainly concerned the iliac side, accompanied by an external border of reactive bone condensation...

A descriptive analysis of the contents of Care Response, an international data set of patient-reported outcomes for chiropractic patients
ConclusionsThe CR database is a large set of PROMs for chiropractic patients internationally. We found it unsuitable for machine learning analysis for our purposes; its utility is limited by a lack of demographic information, diagnoses, and therapeutic interventions. However, it can offer information about chiropractic care in general and patient satisfaction. It could form the basis for a useful clinical tool in the future, if reformed to be more accessible to researchers and expanded with more information collected.

The Value of < sup > 18 < /sup > F-FDG PET/MRI in Detecting Lumbar Radiculopathy for Selective Percutaneous Endoscopic Discectomy: a Case Report
Nucl Med Mol Imaging. 2023 Oct;57(5):247-250. doi: 10.1007/s13139-023-00797-3. Epub 2023 Mar 29.ABSTRACTMagnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the most popular imaging modality for investigating intervertebral disc herniation. However, it has a high chance for identifying incidental findings that are morphologically or structurally abnormal but not responsible for patients' symptoms. Although a previous study suggested that 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MRI) may help identify neuroinflammation in lumbar radiculopathy, there is currently no direct evidence obtaine...

Global, regional, and national epidemiology of migraine and tension-type headache in youths and young adults aged 15 –39 years from 1990 to 2019: findings from the global burden of disease study 2019
ConclusionMigraine and TTH represent formidable challenges in global health. The intensity of their impact exhibits marked disparities across nations and is distinctly elevated among women, individuals within the 30 –39 age bracket, and populations characterized by a high SDI. The results of our research emphasize the imperative of assimilating migraine and TTH management into contemporary healthcare paradigms. Such strategic integration holds the potential to amplify public cognizance regarding pertinent ris k factors and the spectrum of therapeutic interventions at hand.

Evaluating hs-cTnI serum levels and cTnI gene expression compared with cardiac nuclear scan in patients with angina pectoris
Cell Mol Biol (Noisy-le-grand). 2023 Jul 31;69(7):98-103. doi: 10.14715/cmb/2023.69.7.16.ABSTRACTExercise stress can cause reversible myocardial ischemia in people with coronary artery disease (CAD). On the other hand, the new troponin biomarker with high sensitivity can detect faster and small amounts of troponin in blood circulation. The present study aimed to investigate the serum troponin level following exercise stress and the result of nuclear heart scans as the gold standard. For this purpose, 93 patients with stable angina and no history of known CAD and organic disease were included in this cross-sectional study. ...

Imaging manifestations of wandering spleen with torsion
We present a case of a male patient admitted to the emergency department with vomiting, nausea, and persistent lower abdominal pain. Computed tomography and ultrasound were performed and were used to diagnose a wandering spleen with torsion leading to splenic infarctions. Subsequently, laparoscopic surgery and pathology confirmed this diagnosis. WHY SHOULD AN EMERGENCY PHYSICIAN BE AWARE OF THIS?: Ultrasound and computed tomography scans play a significant role in diagnosing WS and its complications, allowing an emergency physician to establish treatment options for WS.PMID:37716902 | DOI:10.1016/j.jemermed.2023.06.003

Imaging features, clinical characteristics and neonatal outcomes of pregnancy luteoma: A case series and literature review
ConclusionsPregnancy luteomas mainly manifest as well-defined, hypoechoic and hypervascular solid masses. MRI and CT are superior to ultrasonography in displaying the imaging features of multiple nodules. Maternal masculinization and solid masses with multiple nodules on imaging may help diagnose this rare disease.
