Molecules, Vol. 28, Pages 5901: Phytochemistry and Biological Activities of Murraya Species
o Rudiana Murraya is a plant genus within the Rutaceae family comprising over 17 species, which are widely distributed in Asia, Australia, and the Pacific Islands. Furthermore, these species have been used in traditional medicine to treat fever, pain, and dysentery. Several reports have also extensively studied the leaves, seeds, stembark, and bark of Murraya from 1965 to 2023 to explore their natural product composition. Various phytochemical studies have revealed the isolation of 413 compounds recorded, comprising coumarins, terpenoids, flavonoids, and aromatics, as well as alkaloids, which constitute the largest pro...

Quercetin Ameliorates Neuropathic Pain after Brachial Plexus Avulsion via Suppressing Oxidative Damage through Inhibition of PKC/MAPK/ NOX Pathway
CONCLUSION: Our study for the first time provided evidence that QCN was able to attenuate pain hy- persensitivity following the C7 spinal root avulsion in rats, and the molecular mechanisms involve the reduction of both neuro-inflammatory infiltration and oxidative stress via suppression of P2X recep- tors and inhibition of the activation of PKC/MAPK/NOX pathway. The results indicate that QCN is a natural compound with great promise worthy of further development into a novel therapeutic method for the treatment of BPA-induced neuropathic pain.PMID:37533160 | DOI:10.2174/1570159X21666230802144940

Alpha-Lipoic Acid, Palmitoylethanolamide, Myrrh, and Oxygen-Ozone Therapy Improve Pharmacological Therapy in Acute Painful Lumbosacral Radiculopathy due to Herniated Disc
CONCLUSIONS: This study supports a multimodal approach combining nutraceutical supplements and O2-O3 therapy with pharmacological therapy in the treatment of acute radicular LBP secondary to disc herniation. The combination of neurotrophic and antioxidant therapies represents an etiopathogenetic approach, not purely symptomatic, that reduces symptomatology and avoids progression of the nerve damage.PMID:37535783

Mucoprotective effect of ellagic acid in 5 fluorouracil-induced intestinal mucositis model
This study aimed to evaluate the mucoprotective effects of ellagic acid on 5-FU-induced IM in mice. Mice were administered normal saline intraperitoneally for six days, followed by intraperitoneal injection of 5-FU for four days at a dose of 50 mg per kilogram. Ellagic acid was orally administered to the mice in groups III and IV in two doses (5 mg and 10 mg), with a one-hour time separation from 5-FU for ten days. At the end of the experiment, small intestine tissue was collected to measure the levels of antioxidant enzymes superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA), and inflammatory cytokines (I...
