Influence of dental education on adoption and integration of technological aids in the delivery of endodontic care by dental practitioners: a survey

Is The Shocking News of the Sugar Industry's Influence Over Harvard Researchers Really Shocking?
Hey, Sugar, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. Today, the Journal of the American Medical Association dropped an alleged bombshell when it disclosed that the sugar industry lobby influenced research on coronary heart disease by effectively bribing Harvard researchers to promote the theory that dietary fat, and not sugar, causes heart disease. The story is trending on Facebook at this very moment, and the JAMA Facebook post states that "Policymaking committees should consider giving less weight to food industry-funded studies, and include mechanistic and animal studies as well as studies appraising the effec...

Physicians ’ Responsibilities in Shared Decision Making for Lung Cancer Screening—Reply
In Reply We thank De Allie and colleagues for their comments on our article. We agree that many primary care physicians (PCPs) lack skills in shared decision making (SDM), particularly SDM using decision aids. This lack should be ameliorated by incorporation of education on decision aids into undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education. Formal SDM with decision aids is one method to promote patient-centered medicine, as are good listening skills and sufficient time budgeted for clinical encounters to create space for patients to express their values and preferences.

Update of Strategies to Translate Evidence from Cochrane Musculoskeletal Group Systematic Reviews for Use by Various Audiences.
Abstract For rheumatology research to have a real influence on health and well-being, evidence must be tailored to inform the decisions of various audiences. The Cochrane Musculoskeletal Group (CMSG), one of 53 groups of the not-for-profit international Cochrane Collaboration, prepares, maintains, and disseminates systematic reviews of treatments for musculoskeletal diseases. While systematic reviews provided by the CMSG fill a major gap in meeting the need for high-quality evidence syntheses, our work does not end at the completion of a review. The term "knowledge translation" (KT) refers to the activities involv...
