Regendering Childbirth: Catholicism, Medical Activism, and Birth Preparation in Post-War Poland
This article examines the work of the gynecologist Włodzimierz Fijałkowski, the key promoter of preparation for childbirth in Communist and early democratic Poland. From the late 1950s until the 1990s, Fijałkowski developed a childbirth preparation training protocol that served as an inspiration for childbirth preparation schools across the country. Assessment of Unconscious Decision Aids Applied to Complex Patient-Centered Medical Decisions
Conclusions: This research demonstrates a plausible benefit of unconscious thinking as a decision aid for complex medical decisions, and represents the first use of unconscious thought processes as a patient-centered medical decision aid. Further, the quality of decisions reached unconsciously does not appear to be affected by the amount of cognitive load participants experienced.

Prism Medical wins approval for shareholders meeting for sale to Handicare
Prism Medical said today it obtained an interim order from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to allow for a special meeting of share holders to approve its acquisition by Handicare. The meeting is scheduled for August 26, and will allow shareholders to vote on the approximately $62 million acquisition by Swedish Handicare, which supplies technical aids for the elderly and physically disabled. Handicare will pick up all outstanding common shares in Prism Medical at the price of $12.50 per share, according to a press release.
