The role of cardiopulmonary exercise testing to evaluate exercise induced dyspnoea in asthmatic children
Conclusions: EIB rarely causes exercise dyspnoea in children with asthma; the commonest cause is a breathing pattern disorder. CPET determines the cause of exercise induced dyspnoea and thus prevents inappropriate escalation of asthma treatment.

Adult Follow-up of Children with Severe Asthma
Conclusions: Most children outgrow their severe asthma in early-adulthood, even if complete remission is rare. An initial low socio-economic status is a risk factor for persistent severe asthma.

Utility of the provocation coupled with the drug reintroduction test in the diagnosis of a hypersensitivity reaction to fixed-dose combination (FDC) of anti-TB drugs
Conclusion: Diagnosis tests for a hypersensitivity reaction to FDC of anti-TB drugs are codified. In the absence of drug atopy tests, provocation coupled with reintroduction test find are usefull for the diagnosis of the incriminated molecule.

Beliefs about vaccination and relation to COVID-19 vaccination side-effects in asthma patients.
Conclusions: People with severe asthma who have negative beliefs about vaccination are more likely to report severe side effects to COVID-19 vaccination. Consistent with the nocebo effect, negative beliefs create negative expectations and side effects.Fig 1.

Virus-specific airway immune response in early life is associated with childhood asthma
Conclusion: We demonstrated a virus-specific airway immune mediator profile during asthma-like episodes in early childhood. Furthermore, an aberrant immune profile during viral triggered episodes was associated with later asthma development, providing a potential mechanistic clue to the virus-asthma relationship.

IL-6high asthma is associated to a downmodulation of several exosomal microRNAs
Conclusion: Under chronic inflammatory conditions, IL-6 levels may induce a reduction of several exosomal miRNAs, which could regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally and contribute to asthma severity.

Unravelling the role of miR-223 in the regulation of pollutant-aggravated allergic airway inflammation
In conclusion, high miR-223 expression in asthma may represent a counterregulatory mechanism to suppress type 2 airway inflammation. MiR-223 impacts on GM-CSF release, eosinophilia and goblet cell hyperplasia, but may not be sufficient to suppress severe pollutant-aggravated inflammation.Funding: U4 UGent/UMCG 05U40516, UGent BOF/GOA, FWO Flanders

Effect of Ozone on Allergic Airway Inflammation
Conclusions: While O3 did not cause a clear differential effect on airway inflammatory responses to allergen challenge, those responses did appear to be modulated by GSTM1.

Risk factors and age-related patterns of asthma-like symptoms in early childhood
Background: Episodes of asthma-like symptoms in young children are common, but little is known about risk factors and patterns of the daily symptom burden. We investigated possible risk factors and their age-related impact on the number of asthma-like episodes at age 0-3 years. Methods: The study population included 700 children from the COPSAC2010 mother-child cohort followed prospectively from birth with asthma-like symptoms recorded in daily diaries by the parent(s) until age 3. Risk factors were analyzed by quasi-Poisson regressions exploring interaction with age.Findings: 662 children had available diary data with a me...

Association between Staphylococcal Enterotoxin (SE)-specific IgE and specific IgE for house dust mites (HDM) in Brazilian patients with Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps (CRSwNP).
SE are a group of superantigens formerly associated with several respiratory diseases, including asthma, rhinitis and CRSwNP. Superantigens trigger the production of high specific IgE levels and are usually related to high levels of total IgE (tIgE) and eosinophilic inflammation. We aim to evaluate the correlation between the positivity of SE-specific IgE for A; B; C; TSST-1; tIgE and specific IgE for D. pteronyssinus (DP); D. farinae (DF) and B. tropicalis (BT) in CRSwNP Brazilian patients.36 CSRwNP patients, defined by 2012-EPOS (European Position Paper on Rhinosinusitis) criteria, submitted to nasal endoscopy and CT...
