Oral food challenge in children with contact urticaria in reaction to cow's milk
CONCLUSION: The occurrence of contact urticaria might be the only manifestation among infants sensitized to cow's milk with tolerance to oral ingestion. Reactions due to oral challenge were related to a larger wheal diameter on the SPT.PMID:37695235 | DOI:10.15586/aei.v51i5.947

Hypersensitivity reactions to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in adults: Beyond current classification
CONCLUSIONS: While the EAACI/ENDA classification system stratifies NSAID-induced hypersensitivity reactions into five distinct endotypes or phenotypes, it may not fully capture the diversity of these reactions. Our findings suggest a need for further research to refine this classification system and better accommodate patients with atypical presentations.PMID:37695234 | DOI:10.15586/aei.v51i5.946

Latex allergy - from discovery to component-resolved diagnosis
Endocr Metab Immune Disord Drug Targets. 2023 Sep 1. doi: 10.2174/1871530323666230901102131. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTLatex allergy is a hypersensitivity response to natural rubber latex (NRL) proteins or rubber chemicals used in the manufacture of latex products. An accurate diagnosis is the first step in the effective management of individuals with latex allergy, especially in high-risk groups, such as healthcare workers and those affected by spina bifida. Diagnosis is based on the clinical history and an accurate allergological evaluation. In the case of type I IgE-mediated hypersensitivity re-actions, which can ma...

Genome-wide meta-analysis implicates variation affecting mast cell biology in urticaria
Urticaria is characterized by inappropriate mast cell degranulation that leads to the development of wheals and/or angioedema. Twin and family studies indicate that there is a substantial heritable component to urticaria risk.
