The Role of Inflammatory Phenotype in Patients With Exacerbation-prone Asthma and Ongoing Therapy
CONCLUSION: Airway or blood type 2 inflammation status is not a valid tool for recognizing EPA or predicting asthma exacerbations in asthma patients following controller therapy.PMID:37640656 | DOI:10.1016/j.arbres.2023.07.026

Allergic rhinitis guidelines knowledge, attitudes, and practices among primary health care physicians: A national multicentre cross-sectional study
CONCLUSION: Our study demonstrates the importance of education and awareness for PHCPs managing AR. ARIA guidelines should be implemented as a standard of care for AR, as PHCPs are the first ones to encounter patients with AR, to improve outcomes and avoid undertreatment and complications.PMID:37636198 | PMC:PMC10451594 | DOI:10.4103/jfmpc.jfmpc_85_23

A qualitative investigation into vaccine hesitancy and confidence among people managing allergy
Vaccine hesitancy is multifactorial, and among atopic individuals, is exacerbated by documented, but rare, cases of allergic reactions to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines.1 –3 Furthermore, conflicting information regarding the safety of COVID-19 vaccines may have caused confusion among individuals with a history of severe allergies. We performed semistructured qualitative interviews to better understand how some adults and families managing allergy perceive vaccine m essaging and what influences their decisions to be vaccinated.

Academic Interest of Allergists in Atopic Dermatitis before and after Approval of Systemic Immunomodulators
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a common inflammatory skin disease that has traditionally been managed by dermatologists. In March 2017, the United States Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) approved the first biologic, dupilumab, for the treatment of moderate-to-severe AD.1 Dupilumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets IL-4 and IL-13, which are the leading causes of allergic inflammation in various conditions including AD, asthma, eosinophilic esophagitis, and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps.

Sleep quality burden in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps and its modulation by Dupilumab
Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is associated with significant burden on patients ’ quality of life and impaired sleep quality. The most common CRSwNP endotype is characterized by type-2 inflammation, with enhanced production of interleukin (IL)-4, IL-5 and IL-13. Dupilumab is a monoclonal antibody against IL-4 receptor-alpha, which inhibits both IL-4 and IL-13 signaling, and w as recently approved for treatment of CRSwNP.
