The effect of digital acupressure on chemotherapy-induced nausea in Indonesian patients with stages III-IV breast cancer
In conclusion, acupressure effectively decreased the frequency and severity of nausea in breast cancer patients undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Acupressure could be implemented as an adjunct intervention in addition to antiemetic therapy for the prevention of CIN in breast cancer patients.PMID:37688948 | DOI:10.1016/j.jaim.2023.100794

Predictors and survival outcomes of having less than 12 harvested lymph nodes in proctectomy for rectal cancer
CONCLUSIONS: Older age, open resection, and neoadjuvant therapy were independent predictors of < 12 harvested LNs. Conversely, higher clinical TNM stage and tumor grade, coloanal anastomosis, and minimally invasive surgery were predictive of ≥ 12 harvested LNs. < 12 LNs harvested was associated with lower OS.PMID:37688758 | DOI:10.1007/s00384-023-04518-2

Clinical Utility of Pre-Therapeutic 18FFDG PET/CT Imaging for Predicting Outcomes in Breast Cancer
CONCLUSION: High TMTV in pre-therapeutic imaging is associated with no-pCR and recurrence. It can help in identifying high-risk patients and be considered as an intensified or alternative adjuvant therapy for closely monitoring patients.PMID:37685551 | PMC:PMC10488013 | DOI:10.3390/jcm12175487

Clinical Significance of Radical Prostatectomy in Clinical Lymph Node Metastasis in Prostate Cancer
CONCLUSION: Radical prostatectomy can confirm lymph node metastasis. Although pathologic diagnosis has no effect on time to BCR and CPRC, because it affects BCR rate, CRPC rate, and CSS, an accurate pathological diagnosis obtained through surgery is beneficial in the treatment of clinical lymph node metastasis prostate cancer.PMID:37689608 | DOI:10.1245/s10434-023-14137-4

Platinum-based chemotherapy for early triple-negative breast cancer
CONCLUSIONS: Platinum-based chemotherapy using carboplatin in the adjuvant or neoadjuvant setting improves long-term outcomes of DFS and OS in early TNBC, with no evidence of differences by subgroup. This was at the cost of more frequent chemotherapy delays and dose reductions, and greater haematological toxicity, though serious adverse events including neuropathy, febrile neutropenia or treatment-related death were not increased. These findings support the use of platinum-based chemotherapy for people with early TNBC. The optimal dose and regimen are not defined by this analysis, but there is a suggestion that similar rel...

SENP5 promotes homologous recombination-mediated DNA damage repair in colorectal cancer cells through H2AZ deSUMOylation
CONCLUSION: Our findings revealed novel role of SENP5 in HR mediated DNA damage repair and cancer resistance, which could be applied as potent prognostic marker and intervention target for cancer radiotherapy.PMID:37684630 | DOI:10.1186/s13046-023-02789-9

Understanding breast cancer complexity to improve patient outcomes: The St. Gallen International Consensus Conference for the Primary Therapy of Individuals with Early Breast Cancer 2023
Ann Oncol. 2023 Sep 6:S0923-7534(23)00835-9. doi: 10.1016/j.annonc.2023.08.017. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe 18th St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Conference held in March 2023, in Vienna, Austria, assessed significant new findings for local and systemic therapies for early breast cancer with a focus on the evaluation of multimodal treatment options. The emergence of more effective, innovative agents in both the preoperative (primary, or neoadjuvant) and postoperative (adjuvant) settings, has underscored the pivotal role of a multidisciplinary approach in treatment decision-making, particularly when selecting sy...

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 4470: Systematic Review of the Survival Outcomes of Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy in Women with Malignant Ovarian & mdash; An Germ Cell Tumors
In conclusion, NACT may be considered for the management of MOGCT; however, possible candidates for NACT use and an ideal number of NACT cycles remain unknown. Further studies are warranted to validate the efficacy of NACT in advanced MOGCT patients.
