Functional feeding groups of Chironomidae (Diptera: Nematocera) and their spatial variation in an intermittent hill stream (Ventana Stream, Buenos Aires, Argentina)
In this study, we analyzed the gut contents of this insect family with an aim at establishing their diet in an intermittent stream in the Ventania-Hill system. We sampled three sites with different habitat characteristics (i. e., altitude, substrate type, and current velocity). Of the total of nine taxa were recorded, the only one present at all sites was Corynoneura sp. 1. The food items found were detritus, diatoms, filamentous chlorophytes, euglenophytes, vascular plants, fungi, and animal remains. Combined Effects of Fluoride and Dietary Seleno-L-methionine at Environmentally Relevant Concentrations on Female Zebrafish (Danio rerio) Liver: Histopathological Damages, Oxidative Stress and Inflammation
In this study, female zebrafish (Danio rerio) were exposed to fluoride (80 mg/L sodium fluoride) and/or dietary selenomethionine for 30, 60 and 90 days, the effects on the liver of zebrafish were investigated. The results indicated that an increase in fluoride burden, inhibited growth and impaired liver morphology were recorded after fluoride exposure. Maternal obstructive sleep apnea aggravates metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease via HMGB1-TLR4 signaling-mediated endoplasmic reticulum stress in male offspring rats

Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz polysaccharide improves glycolipid metabolism disorders through activation of aryl hydrocarbon receptor by gut flora-produced tryptophan metabolites
In this study, a heterogeneous acidic heteropolysaccharide with high molecular weight mainly composed of fructose was isolated from Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz (AMP). Supplementation with AMP was shown to improve diet-induced GMD in a rat model, including decreasing the levels of serum triglycerides, total cholesterol, and glucose, and improving hepatic lipidosis and islet cells morphologies. Unonopsis guatterioides: morphological and chemical characteristics of its fruits and seeds, and germination processes under experimental conditions
This study aimed to evaluate the morphometry of seeds and fruits, their chemical composition, and the germination at different temperatures using seeds subjected to tegumentary dormancy break from fruits collected in a semi-deciduous seasonal forests in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.
