[a case of eosinophilic gastroenteritis found by pica during oral immunotherapy].
We report the case of a 6-year-old boy with EGE. He was diagnosed as having immediate-type food allergies (egg, milk and wheat) by oral food challenges at 1 year of age. OIT for each food was carried out, and the amounts of the offending foods were able to be gradually increased without causing any immediate-type allergy symptoms. However, the total IgE and specific IgE values were remarkably increased at the age of 4 years and 4 months. He first developed oral mucosa symptoms and vomiting at 4 years and 10 months of age, and they gradually worsened. Stopping eggs and milk alleviated the symptoms. Nevertheless, he still oc...

[the case report of a 8 years old boy with cochineal allergy].
We report a case of an 8-year-old boy who developed a cochineal allergy.Current disease history: He has been suffering from atopic dermatitis, bronchial asthma, and food allergies since childhood. At the age of seven, he experienced an unknown anaphylaxis reaction twice. When he was 8 years old, he ate a frankfurter containing hypoallergenic cochineal for the first time; cold sweat, intraoral discomfort, respiratory distress, and urticaria appeared throughout the body. His skin prick tests were positive, with a result of 2+to frankfurter and cochineal dyes (color value 0.1 and 0.01). In the immunoblot assay, binding of IgE...

We report an adult case of periodic fever, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis, and adenitis (PFAPA) syndrome, who had a tonsillectomy at 10 years old and relapsed later. An early 40's-year-old man had been suffering from recurrent fever attack once in 1-2 months during childhood. He was accompanied by fever which was persist for several days, aphthous stomatitis, tongued tonsillitis with moss, pharyngitis, and submandibular lymphadenitis with tenderness. He was not doing well during fare-up. At the time of admission, CRP level was 12.5mg/dl and the remarkably increased expression of CD64 on neutrophils was found. Bacterial i...

[early childhood-onset pork-cat syndrome due to sensitization by both cats and dogs -a case report].
We present a case of early childhood-onset pork-cat syndrome possibly due to sensitization by both cats and dogs. A 6-year-old girl was referred to our hospital because of repetitive episodes of urticaria when she consumed pork meat. The patient lived with a dog and the ground floor of her house was a veterinary clinic run by her veterinarian parents. Blood tests demonstrated high specific IgE (≥50UA/ml) against cat dander, dog dander, pork, Sus s 1, Fel d 2, Can f 1, Can f 2, and Can f 3. The skin prick test was positive for raw pork and beef. Western blotting analysis detected hot spots on 67-kDa proteins in pork meat...

[a case of childhood-onset eosinophilic granulomatous polyangiitis with asymptomatic myocardial involvement who was diagnosed at more than 5 years after onset of atopic dermatitis and bronchial asthma].
We report the development of eosinophilic polyangiitis granulomatosis (EGPA) in a young girl being treated for both atopic dermatitis, diagnosed at 1 year of age, and bronchial asthma, diagnosed at 4 years of age. Her eruption did not result in lichenification and was not fully responsive to corticosteroid ointment. Asthma lightened by treatment of inhalational steroids. Hypereosinophilia was detected at 5 years of age, at least 20% of white blood cells, and 44% at 8 years of age. At 10 years of age, she was diagnosed with anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-negative EGPA. The diagnosis was based on findings of eosinophil...

Arerugi. 2019;68(6):701-706 Authors: Hamada K, Kasai K, Sasaki Y Abstract Defects in the skin's barrier function are known to make it more likely for skin and soft tissue infection to occur in association with atopic dermatitis. These secondary infections sometimes develop into systemic infections such as bacteremia. Here, we report on our use of anti-IL-4/13 monoclonal antibody (dupilumab) on two cases with atopic dermatitis that was refractory to conventional manag...
