Beliefs of rehabilitation professionals towards guided self-rehabilitation contracts for post stroke hemiparesis.
Conclusions The strategy of asking patients to perform exercises alone, in the practice or at home, is still not accepted by a large proportion of physical therapy professionals as compared with students or with physicians. Most therapists still see a <5-h weekly duration of exercise as sufficient after stroke. Influence of Sex on Stroke Prognosis: A Demographic, Clinical, and Molecular Analysis
Conclusion Our data suggest that women who suffer from IS present with a poorer functional outcome than men at 3-months, regardless of other preclinical and clinical factors during the acute phase. These relationships seem to be mediated by atrial dysfunction and inflammation. The inflammatory response is slightly higher in women; however, there are no sex differences in their functional behavior. Association of parental death and illness with offspring suicidal ideation: cross-sectional study in a large cohort of university students
ConclusionsStudents who experienced parental death and common parental illnesses were at risk of reporting suicidal ideation, especially if their family were perceived as an important source of support. As information on parental death or illness can be routinely collected during health visits, attention should be paid to students reporting such experiences.

Conclusion: To address the many challenges posed by EDCs, we argue that Africans should take the lead in prioritization and evaluation of environmental hazards, including EDCs. Impaired Activity of Ryanodine Receptors Contributes to Calcium Mishandling in Cardiomyocytes of Metabolic Syndrome Rats
Conclusion Principal findings of this work are that abnormal Ca2+ transient amplitude, contractile dysfunction; and impaired relaxation of MetS cardiomyocytes underlies intrinsic dysfunctional RyR2 and SERCA pump. Abnormal activity of RyRs was evidenced by its decreased ability to bind [3H]-ryanodine. Although the MetS condition does not modify RyR2 protein expression, its phosphorylation at Ser2814 is decreased, which impairs its capacity for activation during ECC. Discordant knowledge about atherosclerosis disease among French general practitioners and residents
We read with interest the paper entitled “Knowledge gap of peripheral artery disease starts in medical school” from AlHamzah and colleagues.1 In their study of 72 graduating medical students, the authors found that students have a suboptimal knowledge of coronary artery disease (CAD) and lower extremity peripheral artery disease (PAD). In view of the small number of students, readers may doubt the generality of these results. However, we would like to underscore that we found similar results in two studies in France using a national survey with three clinical cases: one about CAD, one about ischemic stroke, and one about PAD.
