Altered Brain Structural Networks in Patients with Brain Arteriovenous Malformations Located in Broca's Area.
In this study, we used diffusion tensor imaging and graph theory methods to investigate the alterations of brain structural networks in 14 patients with AVMs in the presumed Broca's area, compared to 27 normal controls. Astrocytic Yes-associated protein attenuates cerebral ischemia-induced brain injury by regulating signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 signaling.
In this study, we investigated whether the expression of nuclear YAP in the astrocytes of rats increased significantly after middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) and its effect on cerebral ischemic injury. We used XMU-MP-1 to trigger localization of YAP into the nucleus and found that XMU-MP-1 treatment decreased ischemia/stroke-induced brain injury including reduced neuronal death and reactive astrogliosis, and extenuated release of interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). Stroke-like migraine attacks after radiation therapy (SMART) syndrome —a case series and review
ConclusionOur extensive review favors MRI, CT, and prolonged EEG monitoring to rule out other differentials and showed that initiation of corticosteroid therapy and antiepileptic treatment were helpful in the resolution of symptoms and prevent recurrences. Therefore, future studies should be focused on early identification and management guidelines for SMART syndrome.

Donepezil promotes neurogenesis via Src signaling pathway in a rat model of chronic cerebral hypoperfusion.
In this study, we investigated whether donepezil could promote SVZ neurogenesis in chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH) injury via Src signaling pathway. New-onset refractory status epilepticus: a retrospective cohort study
Status epilepticus (SE) is a neurological emergency with more than 180 described causes; common causes include medication change or noncompliance in patients with known epilepsy, toxic-metabolic disturbances, sedative/hypnotic withdrawal, acute/remote stroke, and brain tumor [1]. The term new-onset refractory SE (NORSE) is applied to a patient without a prior diagnosis of epilepsy or other preexisting relevant neurological disorder, with new onset of refractory SE (RSE) that does not respond to first- and second-line antiseizure drugs and no clear acute or active structural, toxic, or metabolic cause.
