Analysis of National Resident Matching Program for Radiology Fellowships - Factors Affecting Program Fill Rates
The National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) is utilized by an increasing number of diagnostic radiology (DR) residents applying to subspecialty fellowships. Data characterizing Match outcomes based on program characteristics is limited. We sought to determine if fellowship or residency size, location, or perceived reputation was related with a program filling their quota. (Source: Journal of the American College of Radiology : JACR)

Exploring the State of Cancer Imaging Research in Africa
The growing cancer burden in Africa demands urgent action. Medical imaging is crucial for cancer diagnosis and management and is an essential enabler of precision medicine. To understand the readiness for quantitative imaging analysis to support cancer management in Africa, we analyzed the utilization patterns of imaging modalities for cancer research across the continent. B < sub > 0 < /sub > -insensitive image navigators for prospective motion-corrected MRS with localized second-order shimming
CONCLUSION: B0-insensitive motion navigators enable prospective motion correction for MRS with all first- and second-order shims adjusted in the MRS voxel, providing optimal spectral linewidth.PMID:38704666 | DOI:10.1002/mrm.30151 (Source: Magnetic Resonance in Medicine)

A Single-center Experience with a Shear Thinning Conformable Embolic
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the technical success, effectiveness, and safety of transarterial embolization for acute bleeding management with a shear-thinning conformable embolic. This single-center retrospective study evaluated outcomes following embolization using Obsidio(OCE). Technical success was defined as performing transarterial embolization within the target vessel to complete stasis of antegrade flow. Treatment effectiveness was defined as cessation of bleeding for patients. (Source: Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology : JVIR)

Bias-reduced neural networks for parameter estimation in quantitative MRI
CONCLUSION: The proposed NNs have greatly reduced bias compared to those trained using the mean squared error and offer significantly improved computational efficiency over traditional estimators with comparable or better accuracy.PMID:38703042 | DOI:10.1002/mrm.30135 (Source: Magnetic Resonance in Medicine)

Improved quantification in CEST-MRI by joint spatial total generalized variation
CONCLUSION: The proposed fitting method using TGV regularization leads to improved results over a range of different data-sets and noise levels. Furthermore, it can be applied to all Z-spectrum data, with different amounts of pools, where the improved SNR and stability can increase diagnostic confidence.PMID:38703028 | DOI:10.1002/mrm.30129 (Source: Magnetic Resonance in Medicine)

Multiparametric exchange protons using Z-spectrum analysis proton (ZAP) and CEST on phantoms and human abdomen
CONCLUSION: CEST and ZAP techniques demonstrated promise in specific CEST protons and wide range ZAP protons and identifying tissue-specific characteristics. The preliminary findings underscore the necessity for more extensive study involving a broader subject pool to potentially establish biomarkers for diseased states.PMID:38703021 | DOI:10.1002/mrm.30140 (Source: Magnetic Resonance in Medicine)

Fast magnetization transfer saturation imaging of the brain using MP2RAGE T < sub > 1 < /sub > mapping
CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrated that MP2RAGE can be used in place of VFA T1 mapping in an MTsat protocol. Furthermore, a shorter scan time and high repeatability can be achieved using the csMP2RAGE sequence.PMID:38703017 | DOI:10.1002/mrm.30143 (Source: Magnetic Resonance in Medicine)
