Clinical and Imaging Characteristics of SARS-CoV-2 Breakthrough Infection in Hospitalized Immunocompromised Patients
CONCLUSION: Immunocompromised patients with COVID-19 breakthrough infection showed an increased risk of severe clinical outcome, severe pneumonia based on chest radiographs, and typical CT pneumonia. In particular, patients status post solid organ transplantation was specifically found to be associated with a higher risk of all three outcomes than hospitalized immunocompetent patients.PMID:38627873 | DOI:10.3348/kjr.2023.0992 (Source: Korean J Radiol)

Accuracy of Magnetic Resonance Imaging-Ultrasound Fusion-Guided and Systematic Biopsy of the Prostate
CONCLUSIONS: In the detection of clinically significant prostate cancer, the combination of systematic and targeted biopsies proves most effective. Targeted biopsies rarely missed significant cancer for posterior PI-RADS 5 lesions, suggesting systematic biopsies could be reserved for instances where targeted biopsy results are negative.ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE: This study emphasizes on the efficacy of mpMRI and targeted biopsies in suspected prostate cancer in real-world clinical context. For PI-RADS 5 lesions, systematic biopsies provide limited clinical benefit and may only be necessary when targeted biopsy results are nega...

Clinical evaluation of the efficacy of limbus artificial intelligence software to augment contouring for prostate and nodes radiotherapy
CONCLUSIONS: Limbus offers significant time saving and has become an essential part of our clinical practice.ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE: This paper is the first paper to include bowel and lymph nodes when assessing potential time savings using Limbus software. It demonstrates that Limbus can be used as an aid for prostate and node radiotherapy treatment planning.PMID:38627245 | DOI:10.1093/bjr/tqae077 (Source: The British Journal of Radiology)

Pulmonary Transit Time Assessment by CEUS in Healthy Rabbits: Feasibility, and the Effects of UCAs Dilution Concentration
Ultrason Imaging. 2024 Apr 15:1617346241246169. doi: 10.1177/01617346241246169. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTTo evaluate the inter-observer variability and the intra-observer repeatability of pulmonary transit time (PTT) measurement using contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in healthy rabbits, and assess the effects of dilution concentration of ultrasound contrast agents (UCAs) on PTT. Thirteen healthy rabbits were selected, and five concentrations UCAs of 1:200, 1:100, 1:50, 1:10, and 1:1 were injected into the right ear vein. Five digital loops were obtained from the apical 4-chamber view. Four sonographers obtained PTT...

Acquisition Duration Optimization Using Visual Grading Regression in [ < sup > 68 < /sup > Ga]FAPI-46 PET Imaging of Oncologic Patients
Conclusion: The acquisition duration can be reduced from 4 to 3 min/bed position while maintaining satisfactory image quality. Reducing the acquisition duration to 2 min/bed position or lower is not recommended since it results in inferior-quality images so noisy that clinical interpretation is significantly disrupted.PMID:38627014 | DOI:10.2967/jnmt.123.267156 (Source: Journal of Nuclear Medicine Technology)

Clinical feasibility of post-contrast accelerated 3D T1-Sampling Perfection with Application-optimized Contrasts using different flip angle Evolutions (SPACE) with iterative denoising for intracranial enhancing lesions: a retrospective study
CONCLUSION: Although accelerated T1-SPACE markedly decreased the scan time, it showed lower overall image quality and lesion detectability than the standard T1-SPACE. Application of ID to accelerated T1-SPACE resulted in comparable overall image quality and detection of enhancing lesions in brain parenchyma as standard T1-SPACE. Accelerated T1-SPACE with ID may be a promising replacement for standard T1-SPACE.PMID:38623647 | DOI:10.1177/02841851241245104 (Source: Acta Radiologica)
