NYMC vs VCU
Hi everyone! Super lucky to have 2 A’s this cycle but I’m not sure which school would help me most with matching back to California. I don’t have a preference at all for location, and tuition will be the same for me at both schools. How does a DO become a successful OBGYN applicant?
I am a first year med student at a graded and ranked established DO school. I am very interested in becoming an OBGYN and want to know what steps I must take to successfully match.
Questions:
1) Do COMLEX scores matter? I'm reading that Step >>> COMLEX. is this true for OB?
2) How important is research? Are in-school poster presentations good? That's about as much research I can find at my school.

Dual Applied at Same Institution(s)
Hi guys!
At the request of my school, they suggested I dual apply this cycle. I applied and interviewed both OBGYN and EM. I only interviewed at 2 EM programs and I know I would not be happy in the field, so I am not planning to rank these two programs. However, the 2 EM programs I interviewed with are at my top one and two programs for OBGYN. I feel pretty good about the number and quality of my OBGYN interviews.
Should I withdraw from the EM programs at this stage? Or just leave them...

I'm done with 4/6 of 3rd year clerkships so far and thought this would be a good time to think about residency apps. wanted to see if my self-perception is accurate

Anyone else in between specialties?
So I have made some other posts but I was curious if anyone else is in the same situation.

Intern hoping to switch specialties
Hello!
I am currently an OBGYN PGY-1 who decided that OBGYN is not for me. I am hoping to switch into preferably Internal Medicine, but if not, Family Medicine. I have signed up for all the websites that provide information on open residency spots including AMA Frieda database, ResidentSwap, and FindaResident, but have been told that many of the residency programs on there prefer an IM>IM transfer for smoother transition given how late it is in the year.

Greetings, I am IMG graduate, and my passion has always leaned towards fields involving surgical intervention such as Surgery, OBGYN, or Ophthalmology.
