Can I realistically focus on women ’s health in FM?
I’m an MS4 who is really torn between OBGYN and Family Medicine. I love the excitement of OB but I really want Family life balance and FM seems to be a better fit. I want to know if its possible to still focus on women’s health in a non- rural setting. I don’t need to be in a major city but would like to be at least close to one. I also don’t need to do deliveries- I would be happy to do in office gyn procedures and prenatal care. What do you think? Is this a realistic option? Do jobs like... How big of a red flag is consistently High Passing but not Honoring M3?
So I am about halfway through my third year, and it's not been going as well as I planned. I did well M1-M2 year (top 15% of class), and very well on Step 1 (260). I have decent research, will probably have 7-8 full publications (5-6 in derm) by ERAS time next year if I dont take year off for research. For whatever reason, I just can't seem to honor my rotations. I do relatively well, and have been High Passing everything with the exception of a pass in OBGYN, but just can't seem to get it... EM and OBGYN combined... is it possible?
I knew a couple doctors who would rotated working in the ER with working up on the floor (mostly IM). But I've yet to see an ER/OF GUN mix. Is it even possible? And if so, how do I get there? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Ob or Peds Help!
I am a third year who is completely torn between Ob and peds. My whole life I always thought I would do some type of pediatric subspecialty, but then I fell in love with Ob too. So I am currently trying to figure out where I would fit in best. One important thing is that I desire to practice medicine where I have the ability to establish continuity and bonds with my patients, and I feel I could get that with either. I'll start with ObGyn. I never expected to like it, but I loved every... Ob or Peds Help! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Cesarean Sections and Family Medicine
Alright fam. So I am on my OBGYN rotation right now and I absolutely LOVE c-Secs. ABSOLUTELY love them. The problem is I am not a huge fan of anything else in the specialty. Gyn work/procedures are fine but nothing I want my living to be made out of in the future. I am still in love with Family Medicine as my specialty of choice. I want to be able to practice full scope and I have always planned on living in a more rural location so I have planned on doing a decent amount of OB. Now that I... Enhanced recovery pathways
Since the OBGYN forum is dead, right i would post this here. Just started out in practice. The place I'm at doesn't have a formal enhanced recovery order set so i carried one over from fellowship. My current regimen : Pre op 600mg gabapentin 1000mg po tylenol 400mg celebrex (i think this is not recommended for bowel cases but am unsure) Intra op Placed an On Q pain pump with ropivicaine, 0.2% at 6ml/hr Post op 1000mg tylenol q6h scheduled Toradol iv or ibuprofen po depending on... Not going to match Obgyn: wtf happened wtf do I do??
4th year student 234 USMLE no failures, decent clerkships, decent LORs, applying 54+Obgyn progs in NE+random Midwest places. 2 offer interviews Rest declines and some interview offers later rescinded after I called 20mins after getting the email (guess I was on the waitlist- how else would they not give you more than 20mins to reply?)... totally screwed.... didn’t think I’d be a failure.... what are my options? Replaying Obgyn would look bad (they’d see id already been in the prev... Not going to match Obgyn: wtf happened wtf do I do?? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Another chances (sorry)
I know these are always here so hate to be that guy again. Coming from an institution without a lot of support when it comes to ophthalmology and the one person I have asked said 255+, but I'm not sure how real that is. MS-3 Step 1= 247 Step 2= (Not done, not sure if I should wait to take it or take it before applications with my score) AOA= No AOA at our school :\ New medical school (around 5 years) 1st 2 years = pass/fail Obgyn/internal med- pass pending: peds/ psych + surg Have to get... M3 scheduling question/issue
Hi, M3 currently on third clinical rotation. Thus far pretty undecided, decently strong applicant but not sure what I want to do. Interested in surgical subspecialties, DR/IR, recently got interested in ophtho, willing to at least try the required stuff I haven't rotated in yet (e.g. rest of OBGYN, neuro, psych). Big hold-up for me is that I'm not sure if I'll actually like surgery or not. My question: we get one elective, which for me turns out to be in June, and which I have to pick this...
